Just noticed this small but awesome shop while grocery shopping. I saw Kobe in the name so I thought Korean BBQ? Then I saw anime written in Naruto font which caught my interest because I love anime! They open at 1 pm and close at 7 pm. I think it said they're closed on certain days too. They sell a variety of different items here from t-shirts of Anya from Spy X Family to school supplies to show off your anime swag to your friends. When you walk in you'll notice a wall scroll poster of Ms.Kobayashi's Dragonmaid. They have a lot of cute plushies around the store for sale. I was eyeing the turtle plushie because turtles are one of my favorite animals. They had a decent amount of anime collectibles. They had some mats with designs on them. I don't know if their inventory will change in the future but it'd be cool to see some anime Funko here. Or maybe some anime OSTs? The people here are super nice. If you're a fan of anime, check them out! Also let's welcome them to the Pocket-Greenhaven neighborhood!

Ok since I last visited they have updated their inventory nicely. I'm still really disappointed by the bootleg keychains, washi tape, acrylic stands and stickers! They are very obviously using stolen art, unofficial fanart on products by individual artists is great but not this drop-shipping crap :(! please do better this has the potential to be the best anime store in Sacramento. That being said, from what I can tell all of the figures and most of the merch is legit. Most of the inventory they have added is real products that are pretty reasonably priced. I cannot vouch for the plush sections legitimacy since I'm not an expert in that market. Just be cautious with what you're purchasing since there are bootlegs mixed in with their inventory. The wallscroll they have hanging is obviously fake but they only sell real licensed funimation ones so that's funny. Stationary is really great quality (aside the stolen art washi tape) with some hard to find brands! Reasonable prices as well! If you're looking for calligraphy materials or specialty illustration stuff this is a great stop. Some great stickers as well ^^ They also carry a large selection of japanese snacks and candy. Manga section is mostly shounen. There's a small selection of tcg imports so if you're looking for Japanese Pokémon packs you can find those here as well. All the figures are prize figures aside from the few gunplas above the counter, the prize figures are pretty reasonably priced from what I've seen.

Pricing is affordable ($5-10). Fiction selection was well-populated, including not only the usual best-sellers, but what seemed like a curated collection of interesting books from the past several decades. I didn't spend much time looking at the classics section (again, always appreciate having classics separated out from fiction), but it was reasonably sized. Overall, recommend, I could have spent much longer browsing! I will certainly keep it in mind for another visit the next time I am in the area.

I remember browsing books here, especially sci-fi and classics from my 20s, good times. The store is much bigger now and has a lot more to offer. Bookstores have transformed themselves to sell a lot of other items these days, I'm old school and used to just books and more books, but it's kind of cool to see records, and some gift items that come in handy for a last minute gift-giving. The amount of Knick knacks here were quite a lot though. Could be a bit dizzying. I saw canvas bags, Tsweatshirts, and souvenirs on sale. Staff is generally helpful if you are looking for something in particular and can't find the book or that category of books. The thing that set Beers apart is that they have a lot of used and/or specialty books you might not find in other store and just won't come across online if you're not into that topic or don't know that author, but here, you might just be browsing and discover a new book genre or a new author in a genre you already read, and that is what makes Beers cool.

As others have mentioned, the selection has some gaps, but I imagine you could easily order a book you want that isn't in stock. I enjoyed browsing the shelves and seeing employee recommendations. When I made it to the poetry selection, I was happy to see that it wasn't all mainstream or classic poets, and I ended up picking up a few new collections. There's an extensive children's and young adult section in the back, and the store also sells things like book-related jewelry, some cards, and a ton of cute stickers (I may have gone overboard on buying some of those). They also sell local zines, which I think is awesome. If you make a zine, you can contact them to see about selling them in the store. The front table has free bookmarks, handouts, community announcements, etc., and the person at the register let me put some of my zines on the table for people to take for free. All in all, a cute spot, and one I'd visit regularly if I lived in town.

They have books for all ages, including a big back area full of children's books and middle aged children's books. I found two awesome children's books. The staff here are friendly and ready to help you if you need it. We will be back!

They consistently carry a wide variety of genres I enjoy, and I always find something that catches my eye. The staff have always been helpful and approachable. Whether I've needed help tracking down a specific title, requesting something not in stock, checking a price, or even signing up for a rewards card, they've made the process smooth and easy every time. Over the years, I've also loved seeing how they've expanded beyond books. There's a great selection of board games, anime merchandise, and other fun finds, which makes browsing even more enjoyable. Both of the food items were perfect. The coffee had an amazing taste to it and the scone was unbelievably like perfectly buttery and not overly run by sugar even though it had sugar on it it just was perfectly balanced. This place is a true gem within the area and if you ever have a chance to come in here to just be in a space of warm and belonging please do. Hands down really really love this place.
