1st Visit: I initially had one complaint upon the first…read morevisit. The crew did not sufficiently clean up after themselves as evidenced by the picture of nails and screws. I found all of those nails and screws laying in my driveway and around my sidewalks/patio. 2nd Visit: I had USA Insulation come out again, because I noticed (after taking out my shower) that two exterior walls had not been filled. This shook my confidence in the workmanship and product. When they came out a second time they noticed that not only had all the insulation settled, but several holes had not been drilled. After the second visit water damage appeared in the ceiling of my living room(during visit 3 I learned that it was due to the fact that they were actually filling my joist spaces, not the walls of my second floor). I attached a picture of two empty cavities as evidence for the second visit. 3rd Visit: USA Insulation came out a third time upon me taking out electrical receptacles in my exterior walls. I noticed that my house was not any more efficient than before and looking at 5 or more cavities proved that I was right to be skeptical. Many of the cavities were halfway or completely empty. A friend of mine supervised the third visit while I was at work to ensure that the job was done correctly. He noticed several work practices that were dubious at best. The workers had improperly measured between stud spaces leaving a dozen or more spaces completely untouched. He told them how to measure correctly and they followed his lead by drilling the holes. Additionally, he discovered that the second floor was untouched on the south facing wall. This was due to the fact that the workers drilled into the joist space, not the second-floor walls. This caused the water damage in my living room ceiling to worsen (see picture). During the third visit a cavity was filled with a heavy resin mixture which poured out of a receptacle(see photographic evidence). Moreover, it appeared that many of the cavities were not being filled due to the technician not leaving the hose in the cavity long enough. Cavities which appeared to have some foam in them kicked out dust and air for a few seconds in each cavity as he "refilled" them. The crew reinstalled my siding but left a two inch gap on the front corner, leaving the bare wood exposed as evidenced by pictures. Final Complaint: So far, I have found 3 empty/half empty cavities since the last visit this month. I have already filed a formal complaint about this. I was previously discussing how to get a form of compensation to cover for replacing siding, however I am ready for a full refund. At this point USA Insulation will either continue servicing my house perpetually to maintain the warranty, or I will get a full refund. I am prepared to go public with all the evidence that I have. My evidence shows a comprehensive failure on the part of USA Insulation Louisville from management to technician. USA Insulation wants to maintain the warranty and come out again to "fix" the problems. I have asked time and time again for them to provide me with a tangible dollar amount to reimburse me and settle the matter permanently. While USA Insulation is not hard to get a hold of I feel like I am negotiating with a brick wall, I even offered the owner of the company to void my warranty and give me my money back, but he refused. Only time will tell if the job will ever be done right. Photos: I have attached pictures of empty cavities which had supposedly been filled 2 times before, shutters which had been stepped on by the workers and damaged, my ceiling which has water damage, and my electrical outlet with resin pumped through it.

After I called to inquire about insulation, I quickly scheduled an appointment for an appraisal…read more The salesperson assessed my house from the outside and examined both the basement and the attic. He explained the plan for the installation and provided a cost estimate. I then made an appointment for the insulation installation. The crew arrived five minutes early. The lead technician introduced himself and his team, giving an overview of what they would be doing. I directed them to enter through the back door to access the attic hatch in the hallway. They covered the walls, floor, and door openings with plastic to contain the mess. A step ladder was set up, and two crew members installed the vents. Aside from one team member conversing with another in the attic periodically, you wouldn't have known they were there. After the installation, the crew member in the attic showed me how the attic looked with the new insulation. The attic now looked as if it were covered in snow. He removed the plastic, and then they left. I would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of insulation and would rate them a perfect 10.

My partner and I were taking advantage of a federal rebate program we learned about through LG&E to…read moremake our home more energy efficient. After a full home energy audit, we learned mostly what we already knew: that our attic insulation was quite old and really only provided minimal efficiency. We also knew we needed to seal our duct work and around pipes and returns in our basement. We got quotes from several companies and settled on Energy Savers. Their quote certainly was not the cheapest, but their services were the most comprehensive. We had also heard positive things about them from a couple of other people. The crew who came for installation were nice enough, and the insulation that was blown into the attic went smoothly enough. They did leave a small mess in the hallway, but nothing terrible. The basement sealing was a bit of different situation. The crew was a bit sloppy with the spray foam and duct mastic, leaving several chunks of both on our floors and some globs of spray foam on the tops of our shelves in the basement. Finally, the real issue was that the crew didn't come with the whole house fan cover that was part of the quote we had agreed on. One reason we chose Energy Savers was because of how much they bragged about their "white glove" service, how they do neat and clean jobs, no hassle, etc. This was only somewhat true. After a couple calls with the office, they sent a young guy out the next day to install the cover. This turned out to be a piece of rolled insulation that they attached with Velcro. It was a bit grungy and not at all what the salesman had described when we agreed to it. Not thrilled with the fan cover and the sloppy work in the basement, I called the salesman directly and their main office. We eventually settled on a VERY small refund (~5% of the total bill). This is when I found out this company that had presented itself as local is actually part of larger corporation. The office here notified me that they had already sent the invoice to corporate, and that I would have to pay the full bill and they would process paperwork for corporate to refund me the appropriate amount. This was the beginning of a three-month saga that included me finding a phone number for the corporate office in Ohio and talking multiple times over multiple weeks to people in accounts payable and accounts receivable. We only got the refund after those three months and many calls. The efficiency of our home is certainly much improved, so I cannot complain about the products we actually have (the only reason for the second star). However, the somewhat sloppy work, the rude person in the office here, and the time it took to get someone to actually process the refund we had agreed on were just not acceptable.

Energy savers found and closed every possible energy leak plus we qualified for a tax break. Pleased with the service, pleased with the initial plan, pleased with the crew that did the job, pleased that the price quoted was the final prices. From experience, we know the work will lower our energy usage.

We were overwhelmed by the amount of work needing to be done, but Bone Dry did an excellent job of explaining everything in detail, and we went into the job feeling confident in Bone Dry's abilities. Our appointment was originally scheduled for before we moved in, but was pushed back several times due to other jobs running over, which was a bummer considering it was scheduled 2-3 months in advance. We were happy though with the continued contact throughout the job, and the friendliness and professionalism of our point-of-contact on-site. He continuously texted photos of the job, the damaged decking, and explained what they were doing and why. Our only complaints are 1. of course, being pushed back so many times, but I have to understand the nature of the job. We were hoping for the job to be done by move-in for the sanity of our dogs. 2. They completely tore off all of our gutters, and even left some parts on that now dangle off of our house, which sway in the wind causing damage to the siding. It may be common sense, but we didn't realize all the gutters would be torn off and when we followed up with Bone Dry about it, they gave us another quote for installing new ones (which ended up being almost half the price of the entire roofing job itself). Needless to say, we haven't replaced the gutters just yet, and were a little disappointed by the lack of communication on the matter, especially with how awesome and thorough they were with everything else. I would definitely still recommend Bone Dry and their services, and will surely use them again in the future!
