This place is by far the worst!!! They never fix anything right, everything is falling apart in the apartment. So out dated on everything it's just destroyed and gross mold growing in the bathroom, tiles coming up off the bathroom floor, cracks in the walls. If at all cost don't and mean don't rent here. And read all the reviews I'm j now that the warmer weather is here I can't even use the air conditioning that they supply in the living room because its got black mold growing inside of it. You try and call the office and no one ever answers the phone and when you go down there, they are inside but locked the door and have a sign saying they will return in a few hours. read more

This place is a disaster. I tried to move in on a Monday, but the rugs needed to be cleaned again because the maintenance people had spilled coffee in several places (the carpet cleaner was unable to get the stains out). When I signed my lease I was given a set of rules including noise and smell restrictions as well as not allowing any dogs to new tennants. Fast forward about 4 weeks and don't you know the next door neighbor smokes anything he can get his hands on. So I make a complaint as I have severe asthma, and I am told nothing can be done about it. Then the downstairs neighbors move in with a large, poorly trained pitbull (I have nothing against the breed) that barks every time someone walks in the building, is rarely on a leash when out, and regularly jumps on/attacks its owner's. They also cook pungent food several times a week to the point that my eyes water and I get nauseous, have domestic disputes on a regular basis, and have raucous parties every weekend. And to top everything off, when I went to move out, I had to wait because Beth from the office was an hour late for my appointment. Do not rent here. read more

This complex has been a nightmare since I moved in my first unit I was in maybe a little over a month before a leak causes the ceiling to collapse in. I was then moved to a new unit which later had similar water leaking issues. Management has been lazy rude and inconsiderate of the my rights as a tenant. I have placed my complaints in writing and I am currently still waiting on a solution from them. Would not recommend to anyone read more

I moved here because of the prices, spaceous apartments, and because of the pool. I will be breaking my lease because it is unbearable. The pool was open for about a week from 10 to 5. If you are not a smoker, beware. Most people who live here are smokers, and smoke inside. Everything I own smells like cigarette smoke because of the family that lives below. Not to mention that second hand smoke is universally recognized as bad for your health, and were forced to breathe it 24/7/365. The apartment management is completely unwilling to make any reasonable accommodation, such as moving us to a different unit. There are a multitude of other instances which prove how terrible this place is. The office is extremely difficult to get a hold of, and they will *never* follow up with anything you ask of them. If they say they will call you back about anything at all, they are lying to you. I had to rent a 2 unit because when she told me to bring my application back in 2 days for the 1 unit, she turned around and rented out the 1 unit during that 2 day period. Fun fact, every single faucet in my apartment has the hot and cold reversed - i.e. turning on the cold faucet will result in scorching hot water. read more

Knox Village has a tendency to illegal tactics where they will without notice place a 30 day notice in your mail box without reason as well. You call to question the reason and they'll tell you they don't have to give one. Then refuse you rent payment for several months then try to bring you to court for non payment to say you were delinquent in rent. Bunch of criminals of you ask me. read more

This place does not even deserve a star. To understand how terrible this place allow me to point out a few major issues and maybe that will steer you away from here. 1. The property manager is evil. She is manipulative, rude, mean, uncaring, unsympathetic, and money hungry. She and her parents are the sole owners of this complex, so you know where most of the money is going. She will do everything in her power to screw you over. She once claimed I owed 150.00 which was not true. When I refused to pay for it when she refused to show me where the deficiency was, she put an eviction notice on my door. I walked into her office, where she likes to hide and demanded to know why she was evicting me. She was so startled that someone actually challenged her, she made up some story that she ran out of paper. I have heard first hand stories of her not giving back security deposits. She has evicted people who complain too much via trumped up charges. Her receptionist is scared of her own shadow and will not do anything to intervene on your behalf. 2. The apartments are old, the complex is old and is in need of complete renovation. When you are taken on your an apartment, you must look closely. The painter literally paints over the electrical sockets, radiator covers, door hinges, and other devices. In some cases he will touch up and not completely paint the apartment. You will be lucky if they replaced the carpet. I lived in one apartment where there was a huge black stain in the bedroom. They refused to replace it, they just "steam cleaned it". The apartment was occupied by heavy smokers and they did nothing to get rid of the smoke. Being that I was between a rock and a hard place, I had to take the apartment as it was. The appliances are old. If you pull the stove and fridge back you will see that on the manufacturers plate, the appliances date back to the 90's. The stove is a no frill, bare bones, electric stove. No lights in the oven, they are often not adjusted correctly, this the temperature is off. The fridges burn electricity because they run hard. Be wary of the bathroom. They are old. Some have the original tile and steel tub. They say they are upgraded but that is not true. Upgraded means a slap of paint, a vanity that has been painted over. Good luck with the hot water. I lived in two different apartments and there were times where there was no hot water for days. Call up to complain and you might get told off. Or the so called "maintenance crew" will tinker around and duck tape things to get it started again. Since we are talking about maintenance, the two men are not qualified, they are nothing more than handymen who patch things up. The only time a professional will come in is if the item that is broken is beyond being patched up. 3. The neighborhood depend on what section you live in. I have been lucky to live in the quiet section where there are no riff rafts. However parking is terrible. Basically you park where you can find a spot. That may be half way across where you live or right in front of your door. But beware, there are residents who feel that they are entitled to a spot and will challenge you about it. Also there are residents who have more than one car (sometimes 3) or a motorcycle which eats up all of the parking spots. I once came home to not one parking spot, so I parked on the grass directly in front of my apartment. I had a good friend who lived in the apartment from hell. Her upstairs neighbors had three dogs, and more than the allowed number of people to legally live there. They were noisy all the time, they started trouble with her kids and the apartment itself should have been condemned; vermin (waterbugs, roaches), severe mold growth, no hot water, brown or brackish water, leaks from upstairs. None of these issues were addressed. It took her over a year of complaints to the office, then finally to the town code department to get things fixed. I too have had to write a formal complaint to the town code department. 4. If you like to ski or ice skate then you will love the parking lot in the winter time. The plow company will plow you in, hit your car and keep going. They push down the snow, no salt or sand is used. So good luck getting your car out. Walkways are not shoveled, salted or sanded. I know of three people in my building alone who have fallen and broken bones. One gentleman slipped on a thick patch of ice that covered the entire top of the stairs, fell down the steps and broke his hip in two places. Another woman fell and shattered her wrist. Both people put in a suit against the complex and to this day they have not been compensated. Now you know about Knox Village "luxury" apartment homes. Move in if you dare or keep on walking.
