July 8/2022: This place was amazing. Another located in the "ring" of downtown Berlin. Simply bursting with colour, aroma & delightful sights! We had breakfast here. It was the Turkish farmers breakfast. It consisted of cucumbers, feta, tomatoes, boiled egg, cheese, tzatziki, sausage, honey & butter & a bun. All very colourful & all very tasty! In my continued search for the best Turkish / Mediterranean breakfast, I decided to check out Knofi (right below my apartment, sometimes the best things are right under your nose!) I opted for the "veg fruhstuck" (vegetarian breakfast) for 5,50 euro and was presented with an amazing spread! Two types of cream cheese-type spreads, two types of cheese (one feta like, one sliced), marmalade, cucumbers, tomatoes, boiled egg, olives (flavor bomb) and fluffy bread. For 5,50 euro this breakfast is a steal, I'll definitely come back for dinner! read more

I sort of come here a few times a month, sometimes a few times a week. Its right around the corner from where I rehearse. My friends and I have lovingly nicknamed the owner, "THE CRAZY LADY," because she always dances, sings, and sometimes even comes up and says random silly comments to us. She is amazing and one of my favorite "Mother-like" characters in Berlin. On the other hand, if you go when the younger woman is working, the service and experience just isn't the same. That being said, the food and beverages are great. I love the different dips and the variety that they offer. The pumpkin soup is outta this world when you add the olive oil and lemon sitting on the tables. Also, a good plus is that they offer bottomless bread, so if you're on a budget, fill up on that! Probably one of my favorite healthy eats in all of Berlin. Perfect for vegans and vegetarians as well! read more

If you wanna escape the gray and boring daily routine and feel like a little Mediterranean food experience Knofi is the place to go. My family used to buy different goodies as the wine leafs, olives or oils at Bergmann Straße Store, so I was happy to discover they opened another location at Oranienstraße, it's a bit cozier then the one in Bergman Straße which I really love for lunch breaks. So far tried the starter plates and pumpkin soup, which is amazing in flavor during my lunch breaks. This soup turned out to be one of my favs followed by the stuffed eggplants over there. But trust me whatever you try you will love the food, the service and atmosphere and in no time you will return for your next personal garlic indulgence which will last for a few hours so be aware of that ;) read more

Fantastic take out in the nice oranienstrasse with delicious flat bread, humus, pastes, soups, coffee & tea, and more Mediterranean delicacies for a bargain. Great for a quick lunch, or use some stuff as a starter for a dinner at home. Come to mention: they also sell baklava which makes a great desert. Serve it with some yogurt and fresh fruit... and you're done! read more

Love Knofi. Very friendly staff (ok, sometimes a little too friendly...depends how much banter you're up for), very tasty food (not really evening-meal material, but great for everything in between), and not too pricey. Beer, coffee, fresh mint tea, awesome pastes (what d'you call them in English, anyway?), free bread-refills, good baklawa, outside seating, open late. Highly recommended. Really really yummy Turkish food here. We were a group of 7 headed to the Kreuzberg neighborhood and decided to choose Turkish fare because it's more known for it there. Aside from the meat filled empanadas, the place is vegetarian and is a self-serve place with the common theme of indoor or outdoor seating (totally awesome if you can snag a table outside if the weather permits). The owner and her son are charming and animated. The hummus, tzatziki, and all the other dips were so good, creamy and with intense flavor. You can order individually each dip or do the combo plates for just less than 7 euros. The champignons and variety of olives -green and black were well marinated and add to the dishes. The dolmas that came with the combo plates were not dry but moist, soft and with enough citrus. Everything comes with plenty of bread in a basket. I really liked the cashew and honey nut balls that you could buy as a dessert. They taste well after a fulfilling meal and are easily digested with a good cup of tea to finish off a complete meal. Oh and it's open late so if you still aren't satisfied and want to chillax for a little longer there and people watch, I recommend ordering a mojito. A little bit on the sweeter side, it's a specialty that the owner takes pride in making and serving it to you directly. read more

Nice ambiance when it isn't packed. Wine selection is a bit subpar and overpriced, but the food is relatively cheap.

I love Knofi! The reason for this is because you can get a great plate of goodness ranging from mixed dips and other things with a big basket of various breads. For a few Euros, you'll overstuff yourself, sit at the busy Oranienstr, and wish you didn't underestimate the filling power of a plate from Knofi. The hummus is dead on amazing. I've tried it at a few other places that I do enjoy to frequent, but when the hankering for Chickpeas/ garbanzo peans hits me, it's definitely for Knofi. It's a litte store front with a few tables inside and 4 or benches outside. It's inviting with the dark wood and array of amazing imported Mediterranean goodness. When you stop to look in awe of the amazing concoctions they have mastered, you'll realize this is no different than the Knofi store on Bergmanstr. with regards to dips/soups/and olives. Head to Bergmanstr. for the restaurant version and the store that sits across. The store has an even more eye opening array of salads, stuffed stuff and beautiful desserts. If you're in the crazy Kotti-region of Kreuzberg, then stop by and overstuff yourself or share a plate with someone. Yum, you'll enjoy and leave burping up some of the fancy and delicious herbs they've mixed in to make you smile! read more
