I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses. As a matter fact, it is my go to hotel when traveling…read more There's something about their breakfast that is attractive! I might go so far as essay if this particular building, this particular, HIE, may very well be the nicest I've ever stayed. The staff was exceptionally helpful when I inquired on a "local" establishment to eat (Sunrise Inn, by the way, was excellent). And every evening, the snacks come out! Clean. Well lit. And support staff. Everything you want when it comes to feeling comfortable for the evening. I always rate based upon whether or not I would return: if I'm ever in the area, and I need a place to stay, this will be where I end up.

Now it's not usually my first choice I tend to stay a little further in but it's doable. The staff is so accommodating from when you check in to the complimentary breakfast served every morning. I have not had such treatment in a while at a hotel it was shocking. I will say the bathroom needs some updating as it seemed to hold in a lot of moisture. There were few places around the tile that needs some tender scrubbing care. The rooms also are not noise proof. You will here everything above you (I recommend staying on the top floor) plus everything in the hallway. Our room was by the pool and "gym" so there was heavy foot traffic. Now gym is in quotes because you're not getting a grand workout but if you want to do some cardio and some might lifting it will work. The pool space was nice! Very warm inside so be prepared if you're going to be in there. There was also a hot tub space in there too. I would stay here again when I come out to Youngstown, OH.

7/19/25 We stayed…read moreone night at Hampton Inn by Hilton Youngstown-West I-80 as this was about half-way point between NYC and Chicago. It was just a rest stop for us. This hotel was clean and quiet. There were several restaurants around the hotel in walking distance. We had room 301, which was at the far end of the building. Oddly the main entrance is at 1 end of the building, most hotel is in the middleish. If you have issues walking, I suggest asking for a room closer to the elevator. Our king room was huge! It felt like there was a missed opportunity as this would have been a spacious double queen room. Bathroom was at the far end of the room, which was only a little problematic when you really have to go! LOL The coat hangar on the wall is genius for rainy days or even colder weather. The only thing that puzzled us was the lack of dresser/drawer space... Microwave in the middle, fridge on the left, what is that door on the right? We opened it and it was 3 baskets. Was this our dresser/drawer space? Odd... But since we were only staying 1 night we didn't need to use this... Pool but no hot tub, tiny gym, and 1 computer and printer in the business center. Breakfast was included and it was standard hotel fare. We would definitely stay here again, if we do another long road trip.

Clean and comfortable and quiet. Great option for an overnight pass through. The Indian restaurant…read moreacross the parking lot was good for a quick dinner.

It's VILE HERE! And the hotel does not care! Offered me a partial refund when I tried to show them videos the front desk guy said "I don't need to see them" YEAH BECAUSE YOU ALREADY KNEW! I had to go to the hospital and throw my shit away.

This Motel 6 has a rating of 7.4/10 on that site, so now I know better than to book through there. The photos online are of what the rooms actually look like - yes, even the photos from 10 years ago, but photos can't feature smell. This place smells like an old Las Vegas casino: ashtray, mildew, and regret. The smell was so overpowering, I had a headache by the middle of the night. Everything I brought into the room smelled like smoke after we left, including my purse, clothes I didn't even remove from my bag, my luggage itself, and my hair scrunchie. I had to THROW AWAY the pillow I brought from home, which cost more than I paid for one night at this motel. The floor was sticky. The inside of the bathroom door was sticky. The air conditioner controls were sticky. The exterior, lobby/office and stairwells have been neglected for a long time. The mattress wasn't uncomfortable, but after everything else that's not enough for a better rating.

The room was clean and we enjoyed the coffee out most of the day until the evening, plus the tea option was nice. The continental breakfast was a good one, loved the eggs, super flavorful (more so than usual and love having the egg and ham combination, don't think we see that one too often. They even have Chobai (spelling ??) yogurt, just wished they had granola to add (they might have, I just missed it). It was a great breakfast with cereals and baked goods, you can toast them too. Loved the waffles and the topping options, our boys had a load of fun with all your sweet toppings. The pool is a good size and warm, just a super slippery surface, like scary to walk slippery, might want to look into that. We also had trouble getting onto the wifi, the window wouldn't pop up asking if we agree to the hotel terms, so we settled for our hotspots. It could have been user error why that window didn't pop up, I have no idea. But the service was great and clean and it's in a great location with many places to eat within walking distance and also a movie theater and mall that you can easily walk too as well. We'd highly recommend staying at this Hampton Inn.

However, the room had so many LED…read morelights that it was hard to sleep as well as a full half inch gap under the door where the hall light blazed through illuminating the entire room. Not good sleeping conditions. The breakfast: mushy eggs, undercooked, sausage, and cold coffee. No good options for breakfast here. It is not a value.
