My review is of the clinic/staff itself. Dr Roman is fantastic, he's Amazing, friendly, all that good stuff. When I first met him in the ICU and when I saw him again at the clinic he still had that same positive energy so he gets 5 stars Now, the ones that be answering the phones/receptionist I just knew with them being rude on the phone that they most likely was going to be the same way in person. I sure wasn't wrong. When I first called them to make an appointment they seemed annoyed, not friendly and just seem they were just having a bad day. I kept having to get rescheduled because of my insurance and each time I called they just seemed like they hated their jobs. When I finally showed up for my appointment the receptionist were the same way. Not welcoming, no smiles, not friendly and seemed to be bothered by questions and overall they just look miserable/tired. I'm all about customer service and usually will not come back to a place where the customer service is bad. Since this was the place that I had to follow up with post hospital discharge, i wouldn't come back here

This is the worst experience that I have received from any company, especially a doctor office that…read moreis supposed to care about it's patients health. Their staff gave me incorrect information with no apology from their rude and unprofessional PA. So I placed a Google honest review with just the facts (to help them understand and improve on their services). But now I called back to just schedule the stress tests, etc. And then to find another doctor that truly cares about the patients and apologies if their staff gives incorrect information ...AND now they have refused/denied my tests and my care because I wrote a review telling the truth of the experience that i received. So this just furthers my complaint and I would like all readers to know exactly how they treat their patients (me). So to this office ... I hope a company treats your mother, wife, daughter, etc. how you treated me. Shame on all of you to say you are a medical provider. I am shocked that you have treated me this poorly when I just asked for information, your staff gave me incorrect information, then no apology for the incorrect information or how it effected me, I wrote an honest review and now you declined my medical care. There are plenty of other heart doctors in San Antonio that do not treat their patients so poorly with professional staff. If you are reading this then I would look to another heart doctor also. Run!

Office check out, appointment scheduling may also violate HIPPA....they talk with you LOUDLY about your private information (appointments, tests your having done, etc.) all in front of other patients who are also there trying to check out. There is NO privacy! And the majority of his staff always seem unhappy....I wonder why that is? Either way....I'm done. Going to a new Dr. that actually has a heart.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Let me start off by saying it's near impossible to get ahold of…read moresomeone to schedule or reschedule at this facility. As someone who works in internal medicine, I'm required to get COVID tested weekly on Thursdays, although I'm asymptomatic. Let me also say that we do NOT see patients in-office at our clinic who have symptoms of COVID-19. We do telemedicine appointments for these individuals. If they're asymptomatic, we offer in-person appointments. I went in to South Texas Cardiology as a new patient on a Friday morning and passed the negative COVID screen at the front desk. I had just gotten COVID tested the day before at work on Thursday, just as I normally do, but had not gotten the results. I was asymptomatic and had a normal body temp. When I was called back for my appointment, the nurse Lisa, stopped me and would not let me in, stating I had to reschedule until I had a negative test. I explained to her that I was asymptomatic and get tested as a required precaution weekly on Thursdays. She still refused. I asked if she had patients come in with no recent COVID tests who were asymptomatic. She said yes, they get seen all the time. I asked how this was any different as they do no require patients who are asymptomatic to provide recent negative results in order to be seen. Typically, Non-healthcare workers only get tested if they're symptomatic and/or exposed. I was neither. She continued to say I needed to reschedule until I had a negative test. I tried to provide her with last weeks negative, she said no, she needed the current one completed on the 20th. I explained that even if I reschedule for the following Friday, I would have the results from the 20th and be able to provide them as she requested, but I would have just tested, yet again, the day before on Thursday at work as I normally do, and would not yet have those results back. It would turn into the same cyclical issue. Even those working the front desk said they'd never heard of this issue and didn't understand why I wasn't allowed to be seen. I work in the clinic weekdays and can only get away on Friday mornings. How are healthcare workers supposed to get seen in these conditions? Again, we do not see symptomatic patients in-person at our clinic. We wear PPE regardless with our in-person asymptomatic patients, so the level of exposure is low. If I'd gone in and said I was asymptomatic and hadn't been tested recently, I'd be seen along with every other patient there who doesn't do weekly testing. It makes no sense. I literally left and immediately called another cardiology office in the area, explained the situation, provided them with last week's negative results, passed the COVID screening at the front desk as I'm asymptomatic, and was seen the same day. There NEEDS to be better protocol for those working in healthcare. It's difficult enough for us to try and find time off work to address our own health. We don't need extra random hoops to jump through as well. I understand that we're going through a spike in cases. But it's disconcerting to think that since I'm asymptomatic, if I'd just told them I don't get tested weekly or hadn't been tested recently, I'd be allowed to be seen. I don't recommend this facility if you work in healthcare. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
