Located on the 2nd floor of the Broadway Sydney indoor shopping center, this large Kmart had all…read morethe general merchandise that one would expect. It was also a nice walk down memory lane to visit. Kmart was part of my youth growing up, having a store within walking distance during my pre-driving days. Unfortunately, they were on a slow than faster decline, culminating in their closing their last mainland US store in 2024. But here in Australia, they continue to be a large presence, with 214 total stores, 52 in New South Wales. I was curious about the history of Kmart in Australia: -- first one opened in 1969, as a joint venture between Kmart US and Coles Meyer Australia, with Kmart US owning 51% -- in 1978, Kmart US traded its share in Kmart-Australia for a 20% share of Coles. -- in 1994, Kmart US solds all of its shares, making a Kmart-Australia a completely separate entity. I did buy something here: been looking for Pokemon trading cards for my daughter, and found a collector set here with many expander decks for retail price. Pokemon cards seem to be popular again, and haven't been able to find any without significant markup. Checkout was self, but I needed a lot of help since the item was security secured. They also scan your receipt for any purchased items as you leave the store. Wouldn't say the workers would add to the stereotype of Aussies being so friendly. Didn't see any 'blue light specials' when I was there. Later learned that they had them very early in their existence in Australia, but they went away once it broke away from the US mothership.

This time however, you were out of photo paper but no sign on the equipment, just turned upside down and away and cords pulled...no explanation as to why..so stand in long queue to find out reason - out of paper. My question, have you taken delivery of more photo paper and if not, when is it likely so I don't have to make another trip to find I cannot print photos again.

Ravish Boutique houses some beautifully put together pieces which are both dressy and stylish. A…read moresales rack is always present towards the back of the store and is heavily discounted. It is very rare that you will find something appealing on this rack- as it looks as though it has been sitting there for months without any attention from customers. The garments are incredibly overpriced, however, there is little or almost no competition on the Northern Beaches, particularly from Mona Vale onwards for the young adult market. 90% or more of the garments displayed are dresses and cater mostly to the formal and special occasion market. Shopping at Ravish is rarely affordable, however, there are brands which are more accessible to customers. However, the quality and design are considerably less appealing. Window shopping will have to do for those of us who don't have a gold American Express.

Ravish Boutique is owned by two local girls with a serious eye for fashion - everything in here is beautiful, exotic and oh-so stylish. Most of the stock is dresses, and the sometimes-quiet shop is packed on Saturdays with girls looking for a perfect dress for that occasion. Personally, it has to be a serious occasion to shop at Ravish - regrettably, these beautiful clothes come with loaded price tags. The clothes are of course beautiful, well made and unique, but damn - $400? Really? Definitely worth window shop, but best saved for the wedding of a loved one before you put down a months pay on a dress.
