Yes I have been a fan for many years and my house is full of these so call "Starving Artists"…read moreartwork. I have scenes from Italy, Greece, Paris, vase of flowers, bunnies, pandas and parrots; so there is a large variety of subjects to choose from. They come to the tri-state area every January with low budget TV commercials during non-prime time hours starting just a couple of days before the event.They didn't have any website to announce the 6 sites they will be at. Usually it is Sunday at a hotel's ground floor ballroom. They are popular with the Marriott at LaGuardia and Kennedy Airport. Many of the paintings are the Bob Ross-style paintings or trees and mountains or typical European city scenes. One year Inside Edition chase me down outside and asked me if I know where these paintings are from. I think they were just trying to dig for a story where there isn't any. Remember they come only once a year.

Oh wait, the openings are amazing and intimate, potluck style food (donation encouraged) and there are live music performances to boot? That's already a reason to stop by, however, once you go there, your start to realize that the art and artists are accomplished and serious (but like to party too). I ended up spending time there and loving the atmosphere and people. Good stuff Ged (the proprietor). Keep at it. Support art and buy. It's very affordable.
