I arrived to find the Dr wasn't there, she'd given birth two days prior. No call to me cancelling the appointment. No real apology from the staff. They claimed they'd called to tell me, but I received no call or message. Ummm, if that were the case, would I have shown up for the appointment? Note on the wall of the office said, $50 change for appointments cancelled within 24 hrs. I asked for my $50. Office staff said, "Sorry, it doesn't work that way. " They wanted to rebook me for October. Nah, I'll find an office that respects it's customers..

The staff is always laughing and very productive - I get scheduled asap and when i arrive I barely have time to chose a magazine and sit down before my name is called. I see Dr. Kara Keaton - She is wonderful. Straightforward, just the right amount of concern, easygoing and empathetic. She performed a coposcopy/ cervical biopsy on me earlier this year and during the actual procedure we were joking and laughing -in between her preparing me for a pinch here and there. And I didn't have any of the negative symptoms one could expect after the procedure. Also, Dr. Keaton gives the most unobtrusive pap smear ever. EVER. It's mind-boggling. If you have a weirdly positioned cervix or you've really felt your pap in the past - book an appointment. I can't stress enough how I walk out of that office dazed from how euphemistic the whole experience was.

Their communication between departments is awful, had us run around Manchester hospital in severe pain because the ER and family birthing center kept sending us back and forth, literally made us walk. Then comes the maternity/paternity leave they will not fill out the forms for more than 6 weeks so you can not get the full 12 weeks allowed by CT law. Management will not call you back either when you ask to speak to them. If I could award zero stars I would. Worst experience with supposed professionals I've ever experienced.

I am, however, quite disappointed with the way things have unfolded with this practice. I had my annual in March, and advised the practice I lost my job and insurance at the end of the month. I was contacted in April by a scheduler to make an apt for a procedure. No one contacted me prior to tell me what the procedure meant or what it included, just that I was supposed to schedule it. Since I was now without insurance and on unemployment scheduling the apt was not possible. I informed them multiple times, and still received multiple phone calls and certified letters. Now that I am finally settled into a new job, new location, etc. I could focus on taking care of myself. I contacted the office to get more information, my call wasn't returned, and schedule the apt. and the next day received a letter that I was being dismissed from the practice. Honestly, that seems a bit manipulative to me. "You don't have insurance or the means to pay, but we're telling you need this and you're not abiding, so we're just going to drop you." I was disgusted to say the least. My feelings were actually crushed. I adore my Dr, and referred multiple women, but will not be returning.

The first doctor they had me see was super discriminatory and judgmental because I would ask questions about testing, processes, etc since this is my first child and I don't know the plan and timelines. I went through 4 weeks of intense depression and she suggested an abortion to "fix it" and then referred me to a mental health clinic without my consent and also weren't booking appointments. I was able to see my normal doctor at the next appointment and she was great. However I found everything transactional and lack communication for next steps. The last doctor I saw was super rude and threatened to call DCF on me because I told her I can't do bloodwork right now but I can come back to do it. Since then the office discharged me and had to keep care while I found a new provider. They were super rude after I started having complications with the pregnancy and told me it wasn't an emergency. Beware of this office. If you ask questions or nervous about the whole process, they will fire you and ignore any health related issues that come up with pregnancy.

I went here 10 years. Had my baby via c section with them, they counseled me in genetic testing and a bilateral mastectomy, they removed my ovaries. I trusted them. I had an appt and I was sent to the wrong office via text and was treated like a criminal like it was my fault. I showed the receptionist the text and her face went white. Nobody else later on the phone believed me. I was supposed to get my birth control refilled which is my hormone replacement therapy I was on for at least 6mo. A big step down in dosage from the estrogen cream I was on as it was, which I stopped using for ethical reasons. I heard how they get the hormones out of the animals. I left a message for the dr asking if they could write the script for the pill until I can get to another appt bc it's my hormone replacement therapy not birth control. No dr called back just snotty nurses. One said she was going to put me on a lower dose. Like as a nurse ratchet punishment. I said I have bipolar disorder you can't just change my hormone dose over the phone you're not even a dr. Rude replies.I was on this dose for at least 6mo, it's like doing something right for my fellow creatures by going on the synthetic hormones was a crime. I tried explaining all this and she was so mean. I said do you think I want to have to be on estrogen? I'd rather make my own! Do you know what it feels like to have your womanhood taken from you? They were that mean for me to go there. This was all so baffling to me, I couldn't believe it was real life. I called again no dr response another call back from a snotty nurse and they didn't identify as nurses either I thought I was talking to drs at first. They didn't want me complaining about them so they got to the messages first, I'm not stupid. I couldn't believe how insulted I could be from a place I trusted my health with for a decade. I called my medical dr right away and he he called the that Rx that day, puzzled as to why the OBGYN refused to refill the same dose I've been on. He has known me just as long so he didn't get it. So I just go to him. This place went down the hill, onto the ice and fell right through. Unbelievable. I'd put no stars if I could. I didn't deserve that kind of attitude or treatment. No patient does.

Robert Gildersleeve what the on-call doctor when I went into labor. I met him for the first time that day. I was in extreme pain the entire time I was at the hospital. I was unable to speak, much less request an epidural, due to the excruciatingly painful contractions every 2 minutes. Dr. Gildersleeve never once asked me any questions regarding pain or my decision to use pain medication. As a doctor, I trusted, that if an epidural was a possibility, he would have suggested it. Once he said it was time to deliver, he instructed me to push. In my anguish I managed to say "I can't push!" He demanded I push now. I said "I can't, it hurts too much!" He said "if you don't push this baby out right now, you're going to have to have an emergency cesarean!" I said "you're gonna have to cut him out - it hurts too much!" He told the nurses to give me drugs to slow my labor down and to call the anesthesiologist. I thought to myself, why couldn't he have done this sooner? Once I delivered my son, I told the doctor I did not want him on me until he was cleaned off. The doctor thrusted my son onto my chest anyways, without him being cleaned off. I pushed back and said please have him cleaned off first, I don't want blood all over me. He ignored me once again and put my son right onto my chest. The doctor asked if I wanted to cut the cord, which I replied no. He asked my husband if he wanted to cut the cord, and he said no thank you. He then asked me again if I wanted to cut the cord, and I again said no, it grosses me out. He asked me once again to cut the cord and I AGAIN said no thank you. I did not feel like this doctor was concerned for me or my well-being AT ALL! He does not have good communication skills and lacks empathy. When I had the nerve and ability to speak, he did not listen and ignored my requests. I would never, in a million years recommend him as a doctor. If I have more children, I will definitely choose a different OB-GYN office, so I never have the chance of him being my doctor again.

I called first thing and was told they allow a 15 minute late period. I arrived exactly 15 minutes late only to be turned away from my appointment because I had reached the "15 minute mark." So technically, they don't give you a 15 minute grace period. It's actually 14 mins and 59 seconds. So if I arrived at 8:24 they would have seen me. Although, I'm not sure how much difference 1 minute would have made, especially when they routinely run late and don't have the courtesy to let patients know. And are we allowed to cancel because they run late? Nope! They clearly don't respect patients time. They also see patients every 10 minutes. Perhaps giving more time for appointments would prevent consistently running late. I'm not sure how doctors can provide the best care possible if they're given such a short amount of time. I'm sure it is set up like this to capitalize the most amount of money as possible. I would like to see their policy in writing, but couldn't find it online. Having worked in healthcare for 10+ years, I have never experienced this and have also shown grace to my patients who run late through no fault of their own if it is not a repeated offense. The receptionists are rude and don't care. I have gone to appointments to find them eating at the desk. And when you call to speak to someone it sounds like it's a call center and your not speaking to a person at the actual office, so you never know who you're talking to. The healthcare system sucks and the people who work here suck too and your "policy" is bullshit. If you've read this far, then do yourself a favor and find another office.
