Handled my aunt's estate. Took two years. Maybe that's normal? Anyway. They sent out a letter to heirs with several mistakes. One was my one heir's Aunt Dottie. They had wrong, outdated address. I responded with updated address. They completely ignored it. How do I know? My brother visited my aunt's former house. It's now, macabre, display place for coffins. Oddly, mailbox is still there. He found letter from Klenk dated a year ago. Obviously, staff paid no attention to my update. Don't know if my Aunt Dottie ever received news about her inheritance. If you need an attorney to investigate misconduct by an estate executor, don't hire Klenk Law. The executor had been the power of attorney prior to the death of my relative, and as such, executed a broad POA designating his wife and another party as beneficiaries to what had been bequeathed to me in the will, thereby circumventing the probate process. I needed a reliable estate planning attorney. Mr.Klenk came recommended by current client so an appointment had been made to speak to me. Sure enough, he called back. we talked on the phone regarding different potential strategies and you he asked me whether I liked how it sounded and, upon further conversation, we have decided that he were going to send me some paperwork and the fee agreement to get things going. Well, he HAS NOT gotten back to me, despite the fact that I called and inquired from his secretary on several occasions. He made me feel excited about the process but when the time came, he DID NOT get back to me and LEFT ME LOST AND NOT KNOWING WHAT T EXPECT. After 2 weeks of silence from the attorney, I was told that he would not be able to take my case. Forget about the fact that I have wasted precious time waiting for them to get back to me. What DOES mater is the fact that the attorney should have a decency of getting back to people and actually TALK to them instead of just DROPPING them without any explanation. It's a shame that this kind of treatment the person gets WITHOUT ANY CAUSE!!! P.S Just to comment something: I was NOT rude to your staff, I was extremely polite when I talked to your administrative assistant. The "owner", on the other hand, lacks professionalism since he did not hear me being rude but rather listen to the hearsay. AND THAT"S HOW THEY DECIDE HOW TO TAKE THE NEW CASE?????? I hired klenk law to probate a will and settle an estate. The first thing suggested to me was filing a caveat, I had no idea what that was and what was explained to me sounded great so I approved it. At no time was it stayed to me that a caveat stops probate in its tracks, and will not proceed until its removed. After 6+ months of paying thousands of dollars and nothing happening, I decided to call the courthouse and ask what's the holdup? This is where it was explained to me about caveats, and why it doesn't make sense for my lawyer to have filed one. And then had to have the lawyer file paperwork to remove the caveat. $$$ Now I've paid 3 - 4 months of bills already involving this, so the last months bills to correct this was too much. I called the front desk and stated my argument and was told they would remove all billing concerning the caveat. They only removed the last months billing. I repeatedly asked about the first 3 or 4 months billing to be removed. Finally after 5 requests I got an answer. The resolution: They would credit me $300 and take the final billing out if my retainer and mail me a check for the remainder. As in this is what were doing, here is your check and goodbye. When I complained I was told "you approved it". Now I aint no lawyer they are the experts in this, however it baffles me that they filed a caveat basically against me. I approved something that was suggested and explained to me by my lawyer as necessary to do. If he would have told me it would halt probate indefinitely I would never have agreed to it. So somehow they are making this out to be my fault. Examples of billing A 45 minute phone call billed at 1.5 hours. All phone calls billed at 2 to 3 times the actual length of the call. Through email Peter Klenk reached out to me about continuing to represent me if I removed my 1 star review. Frightened at not having any representation, I agreed. Peter Klenk then went on in emails to accuse me of fraud and extortion and to threaten to have me served if I didn't remove my 1 star review. My husband's father passed away May 2021. We were advised by the Philadelphia Register of Wills that only an attorney or the executor of the estate could obtain a copy of a will. I contacted Klenk Law because of their reviews to verify if they could assist me. During the intake process, I was told that a retainer of 5k would be required. I informed the person (female) that I didn't believe that a retainer would be necessary at this time because we only need a copy of the will. I explained that I would be happy to pay an attorney for their time to obtain a copy of the will and we would decide if we were going to pursue legal action based on what was indicated in the will. I was told a female attorney would contact me. No return call after 2 weeks of waiting. I contacted this office again. I was then transferred to this female attorney to whom appeared disinterested and in a rush to get off the call. She also sounded very young and inexperienced. I again explained my situation to her as mentioned above. I was informed that she would have to verify with a senior attorney in the firm. Again, 1 week has passed, no call. I called for the 3rd time and spoke to the same intake person. I explained again that I was waiting for a return call from this female attorney for the 2nd time. She indicated that she would follow up and get back to me. Here we are 1 week later, no call. It is obvious that this law firm is only interested in taking your money. It is clear they assumed there was no money to be gained or maybe we had no money. Because I did not hand up 5k, they were not interested in taking my case. Ironic enough, my father in laws estate is worth well over 1MM. If I received a return call, I simply could have paid a 5k retainer. What a disgrace of a law firm.
