An inspector came out and tested areas for moisture, asked questions, looked at the entire exhaust system. He was great, and while he could have recommended a more expensive cleaning and ceiling replacement, advised in this case its surface mold. Continue cleaning and venting. Scrape and repaint with antimicrobial paint meant for bathrooms. So why did I panic? An identical home down the street just had a ceiling collapse and I've been watching a fleet of Panhandle vehicles come and empty the home of belongings!! Once they had corrected the initial problem, I had plumbers fix the leak, and then this went back to them to fix ceilings, walls, etc. this is where things got murkier. It now became very hard to get anything scheduled, certain people would not return phone calls and if they did it was DAYS later. It was as if their bread/butter was what they did for the first part of our problem and then couldn't care less about the rest. Ultimately we ended up fixing the walls/ceiling ourselves. I can't say I would or would not recommend them. If you go with them, just be ready for at some point for there to be a break-down in communication and for you to be doing a lot of the calling/emailing them to get answers.
