Summit Kitchen and Bath - Our beautiful new showroom located at 555C Adams Avenue, Silverthorne, CO 80498

In response to the Oct 16th post by Christina, some clarification is to be made on some of the…read moreinaccurate comments she posted. Perhaps she has us confused with another customer?? We had a total of 2 visits in the "showroom" and only worked with one designer, Taylin. (Who has since terminated her working relationship with this business) . During our second visit, we asked that more specific language, be added to the pending contract. She did not agree to make any addendums to the contract. She continued to state to us that there were allowances in the contract that would take care of everything. We had wanted to be perfectly clear about everything ..sizes, shapes, quality, brand names of products, etc. The only comment made to us was that if our choices of fixtures, tile, ect. go over the allowance, it would be added to the cost of the project. We had hoped for a water tight quote on the cost of the renovation project. We never received an offer to move forward in a transition process with the owner and a "new designer" (??). We were advised that the owner would be "available" to us if need be. You stated in your recent comment that you "reached out to set an appointment with (us), the owner and "our" designer". This is not a true statement. You stated that "our designer" offered a "same day meeting". Again, this is a false statement. We are completely unaware of a new "designer". I do not intend to get into a conflict with this business. I believe they have us confused with another client, as so many statements made by Christina in her post do not relate to our situation. My final comment is "buyer beware"........

Before we decided to go with Summit Kitchen & Bath, we interviewed other kitchen/bath contractors…read morein Summit County and in the Denver metro area. Having experienced past issues with contractors, this time, we needed to be especially careful. Ultimately, we were most impressed with Summit Kitchen and Bath's enthusiasm and resume of work in Shock Hill and other Summit County neighborhoods. Greg has worked on high end kitchens/baths for decades and we knew Brenda before we bought this house. After spending time with Greg and Brenda, we could tell they loved their work and were good at it. Our Eagle's Nest home has an odd kitchen which felt disproportionately small for this almost 4000 sqft home. We believed it was inevitable that we would need to tear out walls to make the kitchen feel proportional to the house. Greg and Brenda were actually excited about the challenges that came with this kitchen remodel. They came up with exceptionally creative design features incorporating elements we never considered. Only someone with Greg's experience could have come up with ideas to make our kitchen finally feel proportional to the house using the same space -- no walls needed to be torn out and he found additional space for cabinets we never considered. Summit's selections of granite, cabinets, hardware, etc. were virtually unlimited. Greg has access to virtually anything. Summit also has connections with many other businesses in Summit County. With Greg and Brenda's referral, we got a great deal on outstanding appliances. After they were done, the kitchen flowed perfectly with the remainder of the house and, based upon the opinion of a real estate broker, enhanced the value of the house more than 4 times the total cost of the renovation. Greg and Brenda were exceptional in coordinating their workers, the various aspects of a renovation, and in sticking to their promised schedule. During the tear out, an unexpected and time-consuming plumbing issue surfaced which could not have been anticipated (bad design not to code when the house was first built); yet, Greg and Brenda were still able to maintain the schedule they promised. They anticipated the unexpected in their scheduling! We were away during much of the renovation. Before we thought to ask for an update, Brenda contacted us with an update. She kept us well informed at every stage of the process. Summit's workers were meticulous in keeping the rest of the home shielded from the construction project. Summit's price for the entire tear out and rebuild was very competitive with even Denver contractors who have much more competition. This has been the best contracting experience we have ever encountered. These folks know what they are doing, love what they do, and do it well!!

Mr. Brown was extremely helpful in choosing the right tint to be able to tackle this very difficult situation. While the shade needed to be dark enough to make it bearable for the businesses in the building it still needed to be light enough to make the space welcoming for the customers. We were on the fence between two shades and we are so glad we went with Pat's recommendation- it turned out great! I will admit it seemed a little too dark at first, but we brightened things up with some string lights to knock the edge off and make for a more whimsical space. We are very happy with the darker shade because it still isn't enough on the worst sun-filled days, which are many here in the high country, LoL! The team at JAM did an excellent job on our project at a fantastic price. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, would absolutely recommend to others, and will definitely use them again for our commercial & residential window tinting needs. Thanks Pat!

I explained the number and locations of the windows we wanted tinted and scheduled for a time we weren't at home to social distance - their request. When we got home after I noticed one of the windows wasn't tinted. When I brought it up to them they when I told them I wanted 4 windows tinted they understood that to be 4 panes and only completed 3 windows (4 panes). That wanted. another $300 to come finish what I felt we had already agreed on and paid for. Overall, we are happy with the work they did, but didn't feel they provide the service we agreed on. I understand it was a miscommunication but I feel it was on both sides and they weren't interested in finding a way to make it right. Disappointed in their customer service.

Job 1 (foundation). Workers good guys and by appearances competent to do job, as was the materials used. They had to bring in backhoe for our 6 ft foundation (we live on hillside with springs where houses commonly shift)- I checked on work and it seemed sound. However, they ran day behind and we had to leave when they backfilled and finish that part of job. It had rained previous 2-3 nights and basically they left yard in a mess that will necessitate me bringing in a landscaper to repair (i.e. more than the topsoil disruption they put in contract- dirt clods the size of soccer balls 25 ft away from foundation wall). My recommendation- make absolutely sure you are present to see finished job before you let them leave- I would never have approved the mess they left the yard in. Not really their fault as they were moving mud vs dirt, but they should've left it and came back the next week to finish. Job 2 (driveway and front approach leveling). It turned out this was an unachievable outcome & there is still 2.5 inch "trip" edge between driveway and garage floor. They should never has bid the job. We contested the job as a breach of contract since goal of job not even close to achieved. Gen Mgr came out & agreed. On my threat to taking to small claims court, they refunded me most of cost of that job. Again, they were responsive to my concerns & outcome OK in the end as avoided court hassle. Lesson here: think about what they are proposing is even possible before agreeing to it. The suggestion is that the job solicitors are working on a commission. If you doubt it can be done, it probably can't- have them describe EXACTLY how they will achieve the proposed outcome. Again, no problem whatsoever with the employees- all did their jobs well.

The installation was sub par not following some of my engineer's recommendations. Some of the additional work that was not done properly by them years ago. I wonder how difficult it will be or if they will even honor their warranty. The company was called Complete Basements and Groundworks bought them out and was supposed to honor the warranty. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this company at this point. If they change their service and at least do what they agreed to do then I will update my post.
