Applied for a job with these folks. They asked me to write a 250 word sample article. Being a former writer with 4 books and hundreds of articles under my belt, I had no problem writing them exactly what they asked for within a few hours of receiving the email. It was on a subject I was not familiar with, and I wanted to impress, so I took the effort and spent an hour researching, even though it was only 250 words. I sent it back to them, and below the article, I also demonstrated exactly where I gave them what they asked for. I showed them how the sentences were written intentionally to avoid passive voice, and where they used "UK English", just as they wanted. Got a reply back saying "Sorry, this is not up to our standards". Really? There was not one single grammatical error ANYWHERE in the sample I wrote, I did research, and I even demonstrated to you when and where in that short little blurb I gave you what you wanted. I emailed back, asking simply, "What is it about the article that you didn't like?" Never got a response. But after reading the reviews here, I guess maybe it's a good thing I didn't get hired by these guys. read more

After a year of contributing content as a writer, I think I can safely say that I enjoy a highly professional working environment here. I began working with April in December of 2015 after departing a previous SEO writing position and quickly found my place on the team. After smoothing out a few initial bumps and becoming familiar with the preferred style, I have enjoyed a steady stream of work which is both interesting and challenging. The topics on which I've written cover a broad range, and I know that my abilities as a writer have improved while working on these assignments. I think I should also note that the company has been very understanding with regard to scheduling around personal needs. Several times this past year personal situations have demanded much of my attention, and there was always a courteous understanding and flexibility extended to me during these times. I wish I could give Klazema a zero rating from the standpoint of writers they're attempting to recruit. There are exactly two (count them two) 5-Star ratings given from supposed authors they have supposedly recruited in the past that are obvious fiction. They were even penned in a style that is standard in the industry for a well-written blog post. Beginning bloggers, aspiring authors and anyone interested in making a living writing online, beware of these types of sharks (read other negative reviews). If you're reading this Klazema, be professional, pay writers a decent wage and stop your devious practices. PS and BTW, comments from your customers are pretty sketchy at best. read more

I have been working with April Klazema and her team since July 2011. Originally, I was just looking for some extra evening work to boost my earnings, and I had no idea what SEO writing was. However, I was given expert guidance and advice by April, and I was helped through the entire process. Since I had never done anything like this before, I was at first concerned that it might be a scam, but my doubts were soon put to rest when the first payment came through, and in over five years, I have never not been paid for the work I've done. On the contrary, I have even been paid bonuses over the years on occasion. I have done two distinct jobs for Klazema Communications. First as a writer, and then as an editor. As a writer, I was able to choose how much work I was given on a daily basis. Admittedly I chose too much work to begin with, which burned me out, but that was my fault. I took a break and came back refreshed and ready to start again. As an editor for Klazema (currently), I review the work submitted by the other writers. Again, I am able to choose how much work I do, and I can work whenever I want to fit it around my day job. I've never felt under pressure to do more work that I was able to do. I can't thank Klazama Communications enough for the help they've given me over the past five years. It's been a joy to work for them, and the extra money has been crucial. If anyone reading this review is serious about writing in their spare time to generate a little cash, then I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Klazema Communications. You just need a good understanding of English and a willingness to learn how to write SEO articles. I started writing for Klazema three and a half years ago. I have also done some editing work on and off over the years. No, the job is not always easy, but what job is? Here's what I love about it: 1. The hours are very flexible. As long as I get work done by the time it's due, I am free to work whenever suits my schedule. I love this freedom to work when I want, sleep when I want, do fun things with my family and friends when I want... etc. 2. It has helped me grow as a writer. I've written about lots of different topics, and I've learned a lot not just about various topics but also about writing quickly, writing well, writing when I don't feel like writing, writing in different tones, and SEO writing. I love that this job challenges me and builds my skill set. 3. I always - always - get paid in full and on time. This job works much better for me than sitting in an office all day long ever did. I get to do what I enjoy from the comfort of home and I'm around for my family. It's hard to ask for a whole lot more than that! There's always plenty of work, but if I need a lighter workload for a few days (or a few days off), they are very understanding about that too. Good place to work. I responded to an ad on Craigslist which said Klazema Communications was hiring writers. I received an email asking for the sample (http://tinyurl.com/nslglsg) and the email also stated that it was a paid sample. I submitted my sample and received another email (http://tinyurl.com/p2bsnjd) stating that it wasn't what they were looking for but to send an invoice, which I did. I then received an email on 10/16 saying that I HAD got the job and was told I could specify how much I would like to write, whether I wanted to work evenings and also stating that they give writers topics they are comfortable writing about (http://tinyurl.com/omlam5h). I said, for now, I'd be comfortable with 1000 words per day and would like to work nights, Mon-Fri. Immediately I was given 2000 word assignments due the next day. I buckled down and spent a lot of time on these articles. I submitted the first two assignments the day before they were due and didn't hear anything back until the due date when I was told they needed to be "fixed". I asked what needed to be fixed and didn't hear anything back for a while. While I was waiting to hear back I had to submit my third article, knowing that it would likely need to be "fixed" too. I informed the person who had hired me that I had been given too many assignments for the following week and one assignment I wouldn't be able to do as it was due on Thursday, the day that I would be travelling to Europe. She told me the assignment could be submitted on Friday instead, when I would be in Europe! I heard back on Saturday about the fixes I needed to make on my first two articles but I was at the hospital with my father-in-law following a severe ruptured aneurysm so I couldn't get to it until Sunday when I would be returning. During that time I was bombarded with emails reminding me of what I needed to get done. Again I stated that I had too much work and could only get a couple of the assignments done as I had to prepare for my travels. I also stated that I didn't feel comfortable writing an article about finance as I have no knowledge on it. I buckled down once more and amended the articles I had already submitted and completed another two articles I had due for the following week. I submitted them and noticed someone else on the website was threatening resignation because they were also receiving too much work. The person who hired me asked them not to resign because they were understaffed and asked if they had any friends who would be interested in joining the business. I immediately contacted one of my friends who is a talented writer and told them to apply, hoping that they could take some of the work I wouldn't be able to complete. I spent Monday travelling the four hours back to the hospital my father-in-law was located at. I had already submitted the two assignment due for Monday over the weekend (despite saying I wanted to work evenings, Mon-Fri) and had already requested to not write the Finance articles due on Tuesday so I didn't think I would have to do anymore work in the time that I would be gone. On Tuesday I spent all day at the hospital before travelling back home in the evening. I began writing the sixth article that was due on Thursday since I knew I wouldn't be able to complete it while I was in Europe. In the time I was writing I received an email about the third article I had written asking me to fix it, but I didn't see this email due to being busy writing the sixth article. I didn't manage to complete the sixth article on Tuesday as it was getting late so I decided I would work during the day on Wednesday to complete it. On Wednesday I found the email I had been sent on Tuesday asking me to fix my third article so I tried to fix it. While doing so I received another email demanding to know where the work was. I logged in to the website and, again, stated that I had too much work and had a lot to do before leaving for Europe the next day but that I was trying my best to complete everything. Because I was leaving for Europe the next day and had spent most of the week at the hospital I had a million things to do so I completed the sixth article late on Wednesday and made a mental note that I would submit it before leaving for the airport on Thursday. On Thursday I received a badly written email (http://tinyurl.com/nwl64zh) accusing me of ignoring my emails and that I had plenty of time to get these assignments complete. I completed SIX assignments after being hired SIX business days ago (eight days total). I tried to log in to submit the sixth article anyway but I had been removed from the website. I emailed back explaining that I had repeatedly stated I had been given more work than I had said I could do and about my father-in-law, but it was ignored. I would not recommend working with or for this business. They refuse to let you see the default Statement of Work before signing a contract with them. They also have some questionable contract provisions, such as the right to "fine" you $10,000 when they get sued and owning the copyright even without paying. It looks like a copy and paste contract because they terminology used is completely different in different sections. If you ask questions, they refuse to proceed. Good riddance! read more
