When I was a little girl my grandma used to sew clothes for me. We'd go to the fabric store…read moretogether and pick out patterns. I was always partial to soft textiles with animal prints. Made into matching tops and pants, these often looked like pajamas. Still, I rocked 'em hard at school and let the playground taunts roll off me.
I hadn't thought about those homemade outfits in a longtime until I made my way into Pesqueira TM in the fashionable Palermo Soho neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Instantly I wanted to scream out "KAWAII!" because everything in the place was emblazoned with cute animals that initially struck me as pajama-like. I jumped into the dressing room with soft, striped t-shirts with bears on the breast pockets and a pair of pants with tiny animal faces up and down both legs. Sadly, only one t-shirt worked out. A shame, because I'd have bought the lot if they'd fit.
Despite being an Argentinean brand, Pesqueira TM felt very Japanese to me. When I asked the shopgirl she said the store is very popular in Japan. If you're in the market for cute, casual clothes for women and girls, this shop is worth a stop!
