Very expensive!! I would've liked to buy everything I saw but as it was, I decided to make the shoes my big souvenir from this trip. The colors and styles looked like the height of fashion anywhere--I could've been in the best boutique on the US or EU. Great experience.

The shop offers quality leather and fur clothing, as well as bags, belts, gloves, and other accessories! Silvia arrived shortly after we did and she personally picked out a leather jacket that I LOVED and took my measurements! They do offer shipping to the US for about $50. I went to his store which was in an apartment and purchased a few after bargaining. When I come home I found a website with prices and was dismayed at how much I had overpaid. So I called him and he gave me a song and dance about if you pay with an Argentine credit card he gets credits and blah blah blah. So I said that I will return them and repurchase them with a friend who has an Argentinian credit card to get the credits. He went into a lengthy story about how that would be difficult and yada yada yada. So he gave me an extra bag at no cost. The whole process is a bit mystifying and left you with the feeling that you definitely got ripped off.

I was quite surprised for a store of that quality and in that part of the city not to have someone who did not speak a word on English or did not try to help. You can be sure that these guys are local. It's located in a small store along Florida Street, which is a semi-shady shopping district with lots of souvenier shops like this one. The staff was friendly and eager to make a sale. The shop was a bit crowded, but had lots of inventory. Be sure to check out the Mate sets- thermoses, cups, tea holders all in a snappy leather holder! Cool! This place had inventory that other places didn't, and a wide variety of refrigerator magnets to make any kitchen look like a Porteno's! They have lots of things that say "Tango" and depictions of the Obelisk Everything is negotiable here. Haggle!
