Love Your Work Career and Life Coaching

I have known Adina for many years and have relied on her knowledge and experience to find…read moreemployment several times throughout my career. Most recently, I worked with Adina to help me explore career options and polish my online presence. As always, I found her to be extremely helpful and thoughtful in her approach to my goals and needs. She does not have a one-size fits all approach, rather, she gets to know her clients and works with them to customize a plan for achieving success. Earlier this year, I approached Love Your Work to explore new work possibilities. I am a public relations professional with more than 20 years of experience who is looking for work that aligns more closely with interests in working with the community and social issues. I have been looking to make a change for several years, but found the process daunting and was not able to take the first step. Working with Adina helped me clarify goals and outline concrete actions, making the initial first step much more manageable. As a communications professional, I am adept at helping others communicate ideas and stories. Ironically, I found it difficult to apply these skills in telling my own story to potential employers. With Adina's assistance, I updated my resume and LinkedIn profile to play up key strengths, skills and experiences to more closely match what employers are looking for. During the entire process, I was encouraged and felt listened to and respected. Whether you are looking to polish up your resume, build your brand, find work or change careers, Adina has the expertise to assist you every step of the way. I highly recommend Love Your Work! I enlisted Bob's services recently to help update my resume (not a CV) and LinkedIn page…read more Considering that Bob has worked with many individuals and built his brand name around his expertise, I figured it could only help my chances in potential future opportunities. We spent about two hours working on both my resume and LinkedIn. We discussed what my goals were and what I hoped to do with my current objectives. Bob complimented my resume saying it's one of the better ones he has seen in a long time and we worked on minor fixes, including grammatical errors and semantics. Bob seemed very knowledgeable as far as what employers like to see and what brings their attention. He explained to me from the use of fonts, bullets, indentation, and arranging content in a certain way. Any questions I had, he answered to the best of his understanding. He was very easy to work with and I trust in his expertise. While I am currently not searching for employment, I am optimistic that with the help of Bob, I should be able to get my foot in the door for an interview should I so desire in the future. I think you should be clear with Bob in the initial consultation as far as what you are looking for and whether he can deliver. Bob does boasts a 100% success rate and that's not something you can confidently say without showing success for.

I was in a desperate state of not knowing what to do with my resume. I hadn't looked at my…read moreresume in 14 years. I tried updating it on my own but I wasn't getting the responses that was wanting from jobs applied for. Professional help is what I needed. I made an appointment with Bob. He cleaned up my resume and he reassured me that my past experience was definiteley something that recruiters were looking for. He helped with with what types of jobs I should be applying for. Cover letters were a mystery to me. What the heck does a cover letter mean or do for you? He breaks it down for you and he provides you with a template for customizing your cover letter to each specific job youre applying for . The best part of his assistance was with LinkdIn. I barely joined linked in and had the basics on my profile. I gave him access to my page and he pumped it up more than I even knew you could. Its now more visible to recruiters and I can apply easily to job posting I see on LinkdIn. He made me more comfortable and less stressed out about my job hunting. I applied for jobs very casually and yes I was very picky about what I applied for. In about a month and a half I interviewed and was hired on the spot at a local company that was the perfect fit. My new company made a comment to me that they hated how my resume didn't include the actual time span for my employment history. I was forced to regurgitate from memory for them. The woman who called me for the interview was the company recruiter and she said that I should always list the dates, recruiters want to actually see it so they don't have to ask. That was the only bit of advice that seemed to be contradictory to what Bob told me. He was a great help to me, he made me more confident with what I was presenting as myself as an employee and my LinkedIn is fabulous.
