I moved to Kitsap county and have studied several martial arts and studied at several other Aikido schools. The teaching here is some of the best I've seen in the country! I never expected to find a jewel like this on this side of the water. I feel like my skill has really improved since I started studying here. When I started here, I was dealing with a number if chronic injuries. They've helped me work around them and been very supportive. I find class a joy I look forward to. I feel like they give me a push to get better without pressuring me to do more than i want to do. There is an excellent balance of teaching philosophies, different ages, backgrounds, etc. The teachers are great at meeting students where they are (no martial arts background, or belts from multiple other arts). As a person with a background in other arts, I think Aikido is a great second art because it builds on earlier learning and integrates well. I learn more nuanced ways of moving, more efficient ones, and have buckets of fun while I'm doing it. Great school.

From the owner: Aikido is often described as the non-violent martial art. Our focus is to derail the aggressors'…read moremovement by unbalancing and redirecting their efforts. This philosophy makes aikido different. What makes Kitsap Aikido different is the leadership from the sensei. They teach discipline, endurance, confidence, positivity, respect, form and growth at all levels. Members' ages range from five to over 78, with training history from 2 weeks to 30 years. All are welcome.
