They pack more in to the space than you'd think. It's free and they have a nice little gift shop.

There really is a museum for everything these days. It didn't even cross my mind that there may be…read morepuppet museums out there until Steve got back from Atlanta in the Fall and said there was a fairly well known one there. I poked around some and found out Bremerton had a museum and Portland, Oregon. Devoted to puppets! This puppet museum here isn't a very large place but they are very active with various activities. They have a retail area where they sell puppets and a narrow room with chairs where they do puppet shows. The back room is the museum itself. The gentleman that was there said that this was just a small assortment of puppets that he has and he switches out the display four or five times a year. He said I believe that his collection numbers around 1,700 pieces. Many of the puppets here with this paticular display were originated in concept to the Far East (The Orient ) but there were a few European and American styled puppets that had fairy tale themes to them. This is a very cute place and I recommend a stop by. It's a great detour for a little while. Adult admission into the museum is two dollars.

What a marvel to have in a small half-dead downtown like Bremerton's. If you haven't been to see…read morethis collection of puppets, you must! It's something to show to out-of-towners that'll leave them thinking they were in a cooler town than they were in! Folksiness and artfulness, jolly to macabre, reflecting numerous nations and cultures, mesmerizing for kids and adults alike. There's a small area where you can turn the kids loose to play with puppets and read books and mess around with musical instruments. So obviously this is a family-friendly place. But don't think of it as only a kids' place, it's too sophisticated and elegant to be only that. Get on their e-mail list to keep abreast of events, special exhibits, puppet shows, and visiting puppeteers. Put together a party of people and ask about guided tours of the museum. Become a member of the museum. The collection of course is not for sale, but there IS a gift shop that can meet your own puppeteering needs!

Well we have been going to this festival for 11 years now, and this year we had BIG disappointment…read moreand very little ooohhhh and ahhhhs. :/. We picked the most expensive meal offered and it was NOT what the hype we received was. A slice of meat on the combo sandwiches ( they hype up the meat) pico de G on our sandwiches which included Jalepenos would have been good to know. The meat had flavor, no sauce, one slice of meat per sandwich. A tbsp scoop of white rice with corn in it, and a tablespoon of beans. For 18$ rip off! We went to find a " blackberry" soda and it cost 40$ for 3!!! Drinks. And they tasted literally lime nothing. Same exact Vendors every year, except I didnt find the jewelry cleaning kit guy ( thats what I wanted) Bonus blackberry jam at the wine tent for 10$ and our wine cost also has gone up nearly every year... thinking about making my own at this point ( AND NO SAMPLES) its nice to taste the batch but big NOPE . Whats happening rotary club... the busiest tent had something FREE to offer. WOW My husband loved his jumbo corndog and viking chips. I DID enjoy a piece of pie this year ... ice cream is always better with Blackberry pie
