I used to vacation in Ocean City, Maryland many years ago with my family. This is my family's most favorite place to purchase kites of various themes, designs, shapes, colors, sizes and prices for my family. Their selection of kites is quite expansive. My children still have their kites from here after many years of use. I returned here recently with my son to purchase a kite for his son. We purchased their Thunderbolt kite for $34.99. I also purchased two spools of kite string for $6 and $7 each, respectively. My total bill was $52. I will continue to return here for our family kites and related items. read more

Cute little home decor/gift shop right on the boardwalk. Despite the name, it's not just kites. Lots of other trinkets and other things you'd find adorned on the walls of a beach house. Plus an entire back section that's mostly toys. So the kids will love it here! Lot of gag gifts as well. No matter who you're shopping for, you'll probably find something for them here. read more

Fun store. Great store for thinking games. Pricey but worth it.

Amazing shop! So much cool stuff in here other than kites, the shop is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, and has everything from kites to stuffed animals to various Rubik's-cube-style puzzles, including 2x2s and pyramid shaped ones. In terms of kite selection, they had literally hundreds of different designs, ranging from $20 cheap toys, to fully customizable and stackable professional level kites worth hundreds of dollars. I just love the idea of kites and whirligigs and am so mad at myself for not buying one of these brightly colored toys for my back deck. I think it's the price label that puts me off! Oh well, next time. But fun to sit in the amazing metal butterfly chairs out front! And it's definitely not wheelchair accessible. read more

This is one of the coolest stores in OC. Knowledgable staff and super cool toys, kites and other neat stuff for kids and adults. Are they cheap? Absolutely not. Anyone that complains otherwise should just go back to shopping at Walmart. Kite selection is second to none. Love this place. read more

I spent a good hour or so looking at kites and deciding if I wanted a merely big kite, or a truly ginormous one (they have 12-15' kites). Several times I was offered help, then left alone when I declined. When I did have a couple questions, they were cheerfully and expertly answered. They looked for the kite I chose, but couldn't find it on the floor, so they took down the one on the ceiling, packaged it correctly, and gave me tips on what line to use, how to tie it, etc. Pretty much as flawless as a retail purchase can be. read more

We were staying right by the store this weekend and their fun kite display on the beach sucked us in. I've been inside the Kite Loft numerous times over the past decades. Recently, I saw a photo of a Halloween item that they were selling on FB. I ordered the item online with another item. I received an extremely courteous call from Sean letting me know that he could not find one of the items that I ordered and that he was truly sorry that the item was out of stock. I received the item that was in stock the following day. Very prompt and courteous service! We absolutely love the selection of items in this store on the Ocean City, MD famous boardwalk. read more

This place is AS GOOD AS IT GETS !!! The kite shop on the Boardwalk is what Ocean City is all about. We come to the beach several times a year and no trip is complete unless we stop in and see what is new at the Kite Loft. It has become our Boardwalk tradition, and since the kids see the large beach kites from all over town, we always know where to go. This place has so much more than just kites. It is the best toy store in Ocean City to buy windsocks, flags, games, clothing (including the Life Is Good brand). They have many other fun, unusual items that we never get tired of shopping there. Very neat store. We visited oc may 25, 2013 so it was a bit chilly for the water and my kids were with us so I decided with the storm that just passed it was windy enough to try our luck with a kite. We purchased a basic medium large kite and to our surprise it was very good quality. It set sail and flew above our heads for about an hour before the kids got tired and I ha to reel it in. This is one of my favorite stores on the boardwalk. I stop in here every year I come to Ocean City at least 3 times throughout the week I'm here. I am not one to fly kites so I can't review their kite selection but I absolutely love all of the merchandise they have to offer. Every year I come in and get a mug, stickers, and a bunch of other items for my family and myself. The service is always really good everyone is very friendly that works there. I will continue to stop in to the Kite Loft every year I come down on vacation. read more

Nice shop, but when they made a mistake in their pricing (something was marked for 21.95, they claimed was a mistake and it should be 29.95) they would not sell for the marked price. Seems like a version the good old bait and switch. I would never do business with these people. They were willing to give up a happy costumer over 8 dollars. read more
