I've passed by this place many times during my visits to Cambridge and finally decided to drop in…read more It felt like a walk down memory lane, all the sketches etc are from Galt, Preston and Hespler. All places I either hung out or went to during my childhood years of living in this city. I couldn't resist and ordered two prints to bring back to Toronto, one of my high school and one of the local historic farmer market building, I requested them to be costumed framed and picked up at a later date. They accommodated my request and only required a small deposit. Several months later I drove back into town and picked them up. It was one of my most pleasurable retail experiences ever. This seems to be a family run business and from what I understand they have at least one other location. If you are from Cambridge or visiting I highly recommend a visit to this store.

Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery

What? Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is an underrated spot! According to Wiki, this public gallery…read morehas been open since 1993, and when I was a student in the city, I didn't even know about this spot. However, it's a short stop next to Waterloo Park, showcasing mostly contemporary glass and clay pieces using 3D printing techniques. Many of the works displayed are from the University of Waterloo. Free entrance with a donations box at the door. You can zoom by here for as little as 15 minutes if you are tight on time. But ideally, a just over 30 minutes would be a relaxed place to explore the art pieces. They also have a little kids' colouring area and a gift shop. There is a range in prices from low, like $15-20~ for a small dish. Most pieces are low hundreds range or below, not cheap but also not an extortionate amount. You can check more of their inventory online too. Worth a visit if you're planning to hit up Waterloo Park anyways!

Me and my wife attended the claytime workshop at Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery. Unfortunately, our…read moreexperience was very poor. Firstly, the instructor seemed disinterested in organizing the workshop. Secondly, it took 2 months before we got an email about our items being available for pickup. We were asked to bring photo proofs and IDs for picking up the items. However, there was no verification. When we searched for our items, the prettiest one, which was my wife's birthday gift, was missing. Nobody at the gallery had any idea about how to help us. They gave us an email. We emailed and there was no response for a week. I called multiple times. The phone attendant, Kyla, was very rude in the response. And after one follow-up telling us that they can't do anything for us, they went AWOL. Extremely bad experience and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
