As an Interior Designer by profession, joiner and cabinetmaker by trade, with twenty five years experience in the industry I expect nothing less but professionalism from the people I deal with.
If you don't know what to expect you might be happy with the service from 'Kitchen Works'. After all our kitchen looks very nice. No credit to 'Kitchen Works' at all, as they are a 'Supply Only' company and neither build, deliver or install kitchens. The only job they did was to stuff it up! And didn't they do it well! The whole process was a nightmare!
They claim to provide full design service with scale drawings and 3D images. Full renovation service and a 10 years guarantee.
In regards to the design - anytime I use the sink I smack my head on the cabinets above! This is a big design fault that could be avoided if addressed properly. We didn't get very good service and definitely not scale drawings.
After we had paid the deposit we had been asking to see the kitchen drawings and after three weeks we were presented with very rough, conceptual pencil sketches that not many people can understand. We didn't know till the day it was installed what exactly our kitchen was going to look like.
We were getting very anxious asking questions but there were no answers, nor any attempt to give some. We had to specify, draw and then request design and construction details. We did get some 3D images, but they were very generic and didn't explain anything.
The installation drawings we received day before the delivery were not to scale and had some contradicting dimensions - but the installed cabinets were a different size again!
We never received any payment schedule and a couple of days before the delivery we were told to pay the full balance of the kitchen price or we would not get the kitchen. We still didn't know what the kitchen was going to look like.
As a 'Supply Only' company they don't take any responsibility for the delivery, installation, workman ship, and definitely not the the product itself. We still haven't got an invoice or the guarantees for the kitchen. 'Kitchen Works' don't hold any licence to do any building work or provide full renovation service. They are not cabinetmakers. They don't know how to build or install the kitchens.
Their interpersonal skills are shocking! The owner was arrogant and sarcastic at times and totally unprofessional in his approach and he told me that "All the trouble .... is because you were in the kitchen business".
I am still hitting my head on the sagging overhead cabinets, there is a big bulge in the appliances cabinet roller door, there is no final invoice and no guarantee.
