I'm pretty sure the Kirsh offices never sleep. They handled my daughter's adoption, and literally any time I emailed them, day or night, I'd have a response within half an hour (max). That both goes for Grant, the attorney who handled our case, as well as the various staff members. I can't speak to their infant adoption services, but they made the adoption process from DCS -- particularly as it relates to the subsidy negotiation -- as easy as humanly possible. They even managed to get us an in-person adoption during a pandemic, which featured all our friends and family signing in via a Zoom session. Pretty lovely, considering that most of them would not have been able to attend even in normal times. We're not planning any more adoptions for the time being, but if we need their services, we'll be happy to use Kirsh and Kirsh again. read more

We have only the best things to say about Kirsh & Kirsh. As soon as we were matched, Rob called us and gave us the most warm welcome. He was the most thorough lawyer we've ever spoken with in regards to adoption and we had gone through the process before. The company we went through, for our adoption, recommended Kirsch & Kirsch, P.C. We contacted their office and got a quick reply from Rob Kirsch. We set up a phone call to talk about the upcoming adoption; from the very beginning he was friendly and informative about everything. Being that we were in a different state than the birth-mom, he discussed our options with us as we had the choice to go by her states adoption laws or our own states adoption laws. Although it actually made him less money, he helped us to make the decision that we felt was best. The birth-mom ended up going into labor about a week later so our original plan ended up changing. Rob was incredibly quick and efficient with getting everything done in a timely manner and helping us not to stress about anything other than getting to the hospital to see our son. A few days after the baby's birth, we had to go to court so the birth-mom could sign the surrender paperwork. Rob's communication with everyone was phenomenol and the court day was quick and easy. Rob even spoke to the Judge to see if we could give our statement, that day, so we wouldn't have to travel back there, in 6 months, for the finalization of the adoption. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend Rob Kirsch and his office if your adoption is in a state that they work in. read more

Mr. Steve Kirsh has spent his career bringing blessings to many people and I would like to share the blessings he has brought to my daughter, McKinley and me. McKinley is a senior at Carmel High School and became a golf caddy at Crooked Stick her sophomore year. Little did we know she was about to meet a person who would impact her life in many meaningful ways. Her favorite person to work with, Mr. Kirsh, became a mentor to her and an integral part of her high school career. She was so grateful for his support, encouragement, consistency, and patience. She came to respect him and delighted in their time on the golf course and benefited tremendously from his investment in her. McKinley is a gifted student and hard worker and with the support of Mr. Kirsh applied for and received a full tuition scholarship to Indiana University. McKinley's scholarship interview was a 2.5 hour drive and we arrived to see Mr. Kirsh and his wife, Jacque, there to support McKinley. Her life has been forever changed and I will be eternally grateful for the difference Mr. Kirsh has made. Kammy Woodward read more

Kirsh & Kirsh was incredible to work with! They are the most experienced firm in the state and do they a fantastic job with everything from a legal aspect, but the thing that really sets them apart is the humanity they bring to the whole process. My husband & I began the adoption process about a year and a half ago. The process is a bit overwhelming. We had a hard time choosing an agency - we went to orientations and received many packets in the mail. Nothing felt quite right until we contacted Kirsh & Kirsh. Steve Kirsh was why we decided to work with Kirsh. Every interaction with him and the agency was kind and professional. Every person that I spoke with that had worked with Kirsh in the past or knew someone that worked with Kirsh all had positive things to say. Kirsh & Kirsh to us was not just an agency - it is a family agency. Throughout the process we dealt with many members of the team - all who we loved. The adoption process is hard and it has its ups and downs for adoptive parents - throughout the process Kirsh was very open and honest and supportive. Two weeks ago we adopted our newborn son. The process of meeting and adopting him was more amazing than we could have imagined. The staff at the hospital where he was born told us how much they loved working with Steve & Joel Kirsh and how kind and wonderful they are with birthmothers. Hope this is helpful to anyone searching for an agency. read more

I strongly recommend Grant Kirsh without any reservation and with the assurance that he is likely going to be the best attorney you can have on your side with regard to parentage. I hired Grant Kirsh to help with legal issues associated with single parent parentage (single father in this case) with a gestational carrier and an anonymous egg donor. The case was complicated by the fact that the transfer of the embyro occurred at a highly rated fertility center in Las Vegas where laws are clear regarding parentage to Indiana where there is little in the way of laws regarding parentage with regard to gestational surrogacy. The gestational carrier went to Las Vegas for the transfer but had the baby in Indiana just 5 days ago on August 24th. This was her second journey. Her first was complicated by the hospital requiring that her name be included on the birth certificate, this despite the fact that the biological parents had an attorney. It really is to Grant's credit that my experience here was just the opposite, and it certainly could have been complicated in so many different ways--but it wasn't. As an example, there were concerns on the gestational carrier's part that she would have similar problems this time as she had last. Her attorney in Las Vegas did not know how to deal with the situation. Grant immediately called her attorney, called the gestational carrier, explained how things would go in Indiana, and that matter was quickly resolved. Then the hospital in Indiana was suddenly changed last minute and the hospital that the gestational used for her previous pregnancy was the main hospital for delivery. They told the gestational carrier that things would be similar to the last pregnancy, that she would be listed as the mother. They had explained that it was both hospital policy and Indiana law. This required Grant to contact the hospital's social services department. He played phone tag with the social worker who was handling the birth certificate and other legal documents. On the day of my daughter's birth, the hospital staff provided me and my boys with hospital room (something that is not typically done). Further, when I asked about the issues that the gestational carrier was concerned about, the response was simple: they were following the parentage order to the letter, and that order specifically covered issues regarding whose name is to be on the birth cerfificate and how the hospital was to handle any legal documents with regard to parentage. This had all been taken care of by Mr Kirsh. In conclusion, Mr. Kirsh is a highly professional attorney with significant expertise in adoption and parentage issues with gestational surrogacy. He is also extremely reachable and very quick to respond. He has every potential issue already considered in the work he does. He coordinates completion of parentage with all pareties. In my case, at least, he was the key attorney among multiple attornies, who bound everything together. What could have been a nightmare in terms of parentage was just the opposite...extremely smooth. The gestational surrogage was pleasantly surprised, the hospital was given an education on legal parentage (and did a great job of it) and my experience was as smooth as can be. Conclusion: highly recommended without reservation read more

Highly recommend Kirsh and Kirsh. Very professional and friendly. Process was very smooth when we adopted our son. They treated us like family. read more

Grant helped us adopt through foster care, and from a legal representation perspective it couldn't have gone better. Adopting through foster care is such an emotional roller coaster and a massive undertaking, that you want to make sure to have a lawyer who helps through the process and makes things easy, not more stressful. Grant was extremely thorough in answering questions and talking through possible scenarios. There are so many unknowns, but he was able to speak to all the possibilities I could throw at him. If you want someone who makes you feel like they don't have time for you, doesn't really care about your life changing, and leaves you feeling ripped off, then Grant is not your guy. In other words, you should call Grant! read more

I wish we had found Kirsh when we started our adoption journey. When we started, we did not know anyone that had completed a successful domestic adoption in the last 5 years. We tried a less expensive agency, but it was not a good fit. Kirsh did a really good job of talking us through match situations and helping us assess risk. After a painful failure with a different agency, we felt Kirsh and Kirsh was our bright light in the dark forest of adoption. We knew this firm was knowledgeable, responsive, and committed to helping us with our goal of having a family. They were always looking out for our best interests. They are true professionals, and you do not always get that with the bargain priced agencies. We strongly recommend Kirsh! Thanks to Kirsh, we have been blessed with a child. If we decide to expand our family again, we will only trust Kirsh and Kirsh with that task. They were so very kind to us through the whole process. Our initial talk was with Joel. We liked him from the start. This firm is comprised of mostly family, and that definitely made a difference. They work together! If someone is out of the office, someone else is happy to help you. Steve has responded to email from us on the weekend. Emley, who worked our match that brought us our child, is truly one of heaven's angels. When we were finally parents, I honestly think they were almost as happy for us as some of our close friends! I cannot say enough positive things about this firm. read more

We contacted Kirsh & Kirsh for a consult regarding stepparent adoption. We were connected with Joel and his paralegal Crystal. We had many questions and concerns along with being nervous and scared going into the process. Joel never one time pressured us to make a decision on moving forward and made us feel very comfortable. He was easily accessible for communicating with us, and was beyond patient and kind with us during the entire process. After speaking with Joel a few times we felt we trusted putting our family into his hands and we decided to hire and move forward with the adoption process. He made us feel confident in our decisions given his expertise and expereince with adoption law. Joel is so honest and straight forward with his thoughts and opinions on the case, which we really appreciated. He never made us feel like he was just trying to just "get our business". Joel does not make you feel like you are just a client, he is truly concerned and invested in the best interest of your family. His paralegal Crystal is great also. She is very knowledgable about the process and wonderful to talk to. She is so sweet, and she was always quick to reply and helpful with any questions and/or concerns we had. She is a true asset to Joel and the Kirsh & Kirsh family. The whole process was made as easy as possible for us by Joel and Crystal. What can be a very emotional journey with many turns; Steve, Joel and staff were all by our sides the entire time and provided the words and encouragement we desperately needed. We have begun the adoption process again. Not only are we anxious to add to our family, we sincerely look forward to working with the entire staff once again.
