Not difficult paperwork and we were not new clients to this firm. However, we waited for 3 weeks, calling several times a week, but calls were not returned. One day, both my Mother and myself called twice, meaning 4 separate messages we left yet no call backs. I don't know if James didn't get the messages or he chose not to return our calls, but after 3 weeks we went to different law firm, Stuart & Branigin. The next week I set up an appointment with S&B and when I called BE to pick up a copy of the old will, suddenly my calls were returned and "the work paperwork has been completed". Too little, too late. Hopefully this will be a teaching moment for BE. You are NOT the only law firm in town and certainly not good with client services.

Not only is it like pulling teeth to ever get a response (and that's IF they respond,) you'll basically have to know the law yourself because you'll be all alone with McCoy Law. As you're dragged through this process, you'll be offered very little legal advice, help, or council. Essentially, you'll do just as well by yourself. This process began with me handing them a check, and that's just about where it ended with the work on their part. I paid them extra to file for divorce, but McCoy Law dragged their feet so long, my ex-wife filed first. There were several issues I contacted McCoy Law about, including my ex keeping my child from me, and I got no response whatsoever from my attorney. I finally called and requested my money back so I could get an attorney that wanted to work, and my attorney blamed his secretary for everything. They did give me the money back for the divorce filing at this point, though the secretary originally said I would not get my money back. My attorney acted as if he had no idea I had ever contacted them. I still wasn't given any advice. I relied on a friend at work who was also going through a divorce. He would ask his attorney questions I had since McCoy Law did nothing for me. I finally came up with my own terms for the divorce and asked my attorney to write it up in a proposal. In the middle of all this, I called and asked to speak with my attorney, and McCoy Law let me know he wasn't currently working with them. Maybe he was fired, but that's all I was told. When the divorce was final, my ex-wife told me. I wasn't even emailed about it until about a week after from McCoy Law. They even uploaded numerous documents a week after my divorce that were completely irrelevant. I assume so they could charge me, though it's been almost a month and I have yet to see any billing statements from McCoy Law. I also had an issue with procuring my property from my ex-wife's home. I tried twice to email them about it, but I never one time got a response. So if you love wasting thousands of dollars while doing it all by yourself anyway, you're looking at the right place. If you're thinking of going with McCoy Law, I would strongly suggest just using them for the legal writing. You'll save quite a bit of money. Hey Earl, need a slogan? I retained Earl for my divorce. He was so disorganized that he sent me court papers for other…read moreclients twice. He sent my paperwork discussing our plan of actions to my ex wife instead of me. He showed up to our settlement conference without any paperwork or figures. He told me to agree to things that did not benefit me at all. He missed the fact that my ex wife wanted me to sign off a claim to a settlement and asked for no details. He then submitted me with paperwork that he drew up to sign and thinking that since I paid him and retained him that he was working for me I signed them only to find out that my ex wife received hundreds of thousands of dollars that I would have been entitled to half of if he would have questioned it during the proceedings. Avoid wasting the money and represent yourself before winding up screwed by your own lawyer.

I paid $2500 up front to have him represent me not counting the 200 plus for the zoom conferences. You think if your paying that much an attorney up front you would expect him to have some skills on how to work the system and what not. But I got the same results that I could get from a free lawyer that I only pay if I win my case, actually that's the kind of lawyer my sons moms basically had and her stepped all over him. Twice my sons my claimed that she couldn't handle our son living with her twice,each time wanting him back a day or two later. So once things became complicated roberto just gave up on helping me. He wouldn't tell me that,he just quit responding to my messages left with the secretary,and ignored my emails. Even after going threw his assistant he still failed to do anything.
