For example, several years ago she measured my feet for custom inserts to treat my plantar fasciitis. She carefully explained how to break them in: one hour on the first day, two hours the next, gradually increasing until I could wear them for at least eight hours a day. She also injected pain medication into my feet (ouch!) to provide temporary relief. Thanks to her care, I eventually fully recovered. I've also seen other podiatrists at this practice during emergency visits when Dr. Papathomas wasn't available. Like her, they are highly skilled and clearly explained their diagnoses. I truly can not speak highly enough about Dr. Cheskis! he was professional, didn't make me feel rushed, made me feel heard but best of all resolved my foot pain. i am very scared of shots, very!!! when Dr. Cheskis recommended a quick injection, i refused. He explain that he could prescribe medication, but it would not be as effective. Dr. Cheskis actually helped me get over my fears, clearly explained everything I would feel & was compassionate & kind. I felt better within an hour! and was very proud of myself that i got the injection. but i can sincerely say i couldn't do it without his support. Even my kids were shocked I agreed to the injection. That immediately started my healing and I was able to walk out of the office without limping - something I had not been able to do for a week. Last podiatrist I had been to after Dr. Fryman kept charging for all kinds of BS including things that were not necessary, added huge charges to simple things like show inserts (doubled the price). I saw Dr. D very often for several months. He was always filing, snipping and smoothing my feet. He surgically removed an ingrown toenail, fungus toenail and planters wart. Besides taking wonderful care of my feet, Dr. D is one of the most caring doctor/human being I have ever known. His bedside manner is incredible. I am grateful that he has been part of my medical team. When his office merged a couple years ago, he asked if I would see Dr. Kumar. He needed to share his workload and said she was very good and I would like her. He was right. She is an excellent doctor, honest, caring, and has most of the same qualities that Dr. DeCicco has. My foot was not cut open…read moreand I had no stitches or long incisions, just tiny punctures in my footI I didn't have to go to any hospital or surgical center and didn't need to obtain any pre op clearance or tests from my medical doctor. I was able to eat before my surgery and was awake watching TV as just my foot was numbed with novacaine. I even was able to get a pedicure before the operation! Before being referred to Dr. Kirell by 2 of his other patients I had 3 other consults with surgeons who all wanted to put screws and plates in my foot and put me to sleep. I was told I would have to be off my foot for a few weeks and use either crutches or a scooter to get around and wouldn't be able to drive or go up the steps to my bedroom. After my surgery by Dr. Kirell I was walking right away and driving a few days later. I just wore a small surgical shoe for a few weeks and then transitioned in my old sneakers that the doctor cut open. I highly recommend Dr. Kirell to anyone contemplating foot surgery as his "Puncture" method which he's been performing for over 40 years is the best alternative to what all the other doctors are offering.
