The garden was created by Prussian landscape architect Peter Joesph Lenné (the Younger). Oskar von Arnim married to Otto von Bismarck's sister Malwine von Bismarck lived here. During the second world war the Japanese embassy relocated here from Berlin, then the red army took over, it became a tuberculosis hospital and was finally rebuilt. Besides being a historic landmark with a history dating back to the 18th century, couples love it as a wedding ceremony venue. The nearby gothic church, originally built after the tragic death of one on the von Arnim children, is impressive.
