There is a gift shop and queue area at the ground floor. From there, the lift whisks you to the lower observation deck at 150 meters (490 feet) which is enclosed. Then you can check out the upper observation deck which is open to the air. We lucked out with great visibility today able to see for miles and miles and miles. The tower has an elevator that cruises at 18km/hr or at 5m/s will get you to the first viewing platform in about 36 seconds. It sports a busy cafe and bar upstairs with panoramic views. It took awhile for service after being seated but the views are phenomenal and you can see for miles and miles. So it wasn't too bad! . The beer was cold and the snacks were good. I'd recommend coming up here for a view or beer/coffee or both. Totally worth the quick trip from Stuttgart city center. Take U7 (quicker) or U15 for a more scenic route, which I recommend.
