With all of the recent snow and ice we expected to receive some kind of notice (as we have in the past) of when trash pick up would be. But that's just part of life and it's understandable. My pick up initially was Tuesday, and then it changed to Thursday. Yesterday, Thursday, my trash was not picked up at all. I called the office Friday inquiring about my pick up day and whether it had changed. It was an oversite and no one was available Friday and would have to wait for it to be picked up Monday. Therefore, there is no accountability for not providing service when due. My concern is this will become the norm. I was with Loni originally and did not have any issues. Keeps poor records, and tries to double bill from prior owners. The prior owner of my address is deceased. When I moved in I started an account with this company. Every few weeks they would skipp my address for non-payment (for an account that has nothing to do with me) My bank records SHOW my payments. We've been using Kirby Sanitation for almost 2 years now and we've had a wonderful experience! It was very easy to setup the weekly pickup schedule. Communication was smooth for requesting service. absolutely garbage and a waste of money they refuse to pick up anything that's not in the trash can, they half way empty the trash cans where you'll end up with trash still in the can. They have no regard to how these things effect you and will not do anything other than the actual bottom of the barrel bare minimum. Then when I've contacted their office I've gotten nothing but attitude off the rip like I'm a bother to their day and a waste of their time. Avoid this company If you have that option. read more

Careless drivers and sanitation workers. They don't pick up the trash every week, so you are paying for goods that aren't delivered. Their trash person has placed my trash can in front of my driveway in the path of my car twice now and today it removed my front plate, part of the back rim, and caused body damage to the front. We have not had consistent pick up for the last month. First week we did not have a pick up on our whole street so I called. Came the next day. Next two weeks 2 days late. This week was a holiday. Wednesday is my pick up day and still none on Saturday. Not sure what is going on?? read more

I have only had a great experience with Kirby. In face last week I forgot to get my can out in time and they had just gone down the street. They stopped and picked it up on the way out. My last service would have been: "You know the rules."...and Kirby is much cheaper, too!! read more

do not use kirby trash service!!!! they pick up trash in dumpsters at businesses at 5am and bang and bang and bang the dumpsters outside your bedroom window!!! i have spoke with the manager about the pickup schedule at 5am, could you please shift your schedule to after sunrise anyway?? they will change for a couple weeks then be back at 5am bang,bang,bang again!! they do not care about anything but these reviews!!! the customers that give them a good review should ask their neighbour about the service!!!they won't be happy about you using kirby sanitation read more

We have usec Kirby for years but will be leaving them. We left out our bin and an empty box. Not a refrigerator size box..a box from Amazon. They emptied the bin but left the box splayed on our driveway. When I called, was told that the can't pick up boxes, when transferred to suprvr, was told they can pick up box, and up to 2 bags but are switching to new trucks and cant update all 1700 customers on their changes. Then he told me that they only pick up what is in the bin as stated on back of invoice. Very unclear and obviously not interested in keeping a long term customer. With so many other options...doesn't make sense to stay with company that has low opinion of customer service. If they make picking up trash a problem for me, why do I have them? read more

I recommend Kirby. I've used them once before, moved away, then moved back in Dec. 2020. They're dependable, on time and if for some reason the pick up day is early or late, they notify you! The office personnel is very courteous and you can set up quarterly easy pay so you don't have to hassle with a monthly payment, it's also discounted! Good service! read more

You could almost set your clock with this company as they are always there at the same time every week. The driver is goes out of his way to be friendly and helpful. I was late one day and he swung back around to get my trash. A simple act of kindness goes a long way. Communication is great, too. You don't have to wonder with holidays when they will be there because you get an email to keep you informed. read more

This company has a whole team of employees that like to give excuses when things are not done properly. They never accept ownership for their mistakes. I canceled service after 10-15 years of calling at least every few weeks due to trash pick up issues. They leave the cans in the middle of the street, they don't pick up your trash and when you call they always have an excuse on stand-by. Think "there is a new driver on your route", "there is a new truck (there wasn't) that cannot pick up the can if not turned a certain way". I got fed up and canceled service. They came to pick up the can and I watched as the man took 2 bags of trash from the can and left them on the curb. I called Kirby and they started to give me an excuse about the truck not being able to pick up the can if it is not closed completely. It was a Penske rental truck and I WATCHED him do everything manually including removing my trash bags from the can and leave them. In short, this companies customer service is a joke. Please save your self the trouble by not getting involved with them. read more

These people insist on putting the empty barrels in the path of the mail truck, blocking access to my mailbox and my neighbors. The mailman drives on past since he can't get to the boxes. I call each week and ask if they could take one more step and place the barrels out of the way of the mailbox. My neighbor has also complained to them. All they do is say "we'll talk to the driver". Today when I called, as soon as I stated my name the man hung up on me! I tried calling back and he wouldn't answer! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I've been with Kirbys for more than 10 years. Recently it seems like they no longer care about customer service. Four weeks ago I left a couple boxes with my container. Something that most people do occasionally. They emptied my container and left the boxes. A couple weeks later I was about to put my trash out at the same tome I have been for years and I hear a truck in the cul de-sac and before I could get out the door at like 7:10 am the truck had come and gone. I called the office and was told that we are supposed to put our trash out the night before. We have bears in our area and these containers are not bear resistant. I was basically told by the person on the phone that it was not their problem. I will be finding a a new service. read more

I have been doing business with Kirby for several years and have experienced holidays on my day for pickup and received no service for several of those weeks. Many other times I have had no garbage and did not even carry the container to the end of the driveway. I have upon occasion carried 2 containers to the end of my driveway and both were emptied. (The extra container belongs to me and is just like the one Kirby uses.) For the past two weeks I have carried two containers to the end of my driveway and only the Kirby's container was emptied. I caught the driver this morning and ask why he did not pickup my container. His response was, "we don't pickup personal containers". I then called Kirby and talked to the representative that answered the phone call and explained the situation and was told the same thing that the driver had told me. I then asked when could I expect them to remove their container from my property. I was told they would pick it up on Thursday. I paid for Kirby's service without any credit to my account on those times I did not get service on holiday weeks. I received no credit for the weeks I had no garbage. So, what's the big deal when I have an extra container for pickup? It's hard to do business with someone that wants all the gravy on his plate and none on mine.
