Cinema has been a live savior since I moved to Munich about one year ago. It is one of the few…read moremovie theaters here which show movies in their original version (English). This way, I could at least understand the movie and have some fun on my free time. At first, I went there to see specific movies. But then I began attending the Sneak-Previews a.k.a. surprise movies. Most of the time the surprise movie is a good one and not always a blockbuster movie, which in my opinion is good. The best thing about the sneak-previews is that many times I get to see and enjoy a movie that I would have never seen, if I had the choice. For me the sneak-previews had a strange side effect: I got hooked :D (in a good way). I find it very exciting not knowing the movie that is going to be shown. This is awesome: You buy the ticket, grab some snacks, take your seat, and just go with the flow and enjoy the ride! I would like to thank my Austrian friend who presented me this place.

Another top spot in Innsbruck as they show films in English throughout the week. The other place…read morethat does also is the Metropol Cinema on the other side of town. The films they do show in English are either arty or mainstream big hits. The English versions are general yon around 7pm in the evening so there is time to visit the local Thai or Indian (see my other Innsbruck reviews) and then head over to the cinema. Particularly good if you are in Austria for a winter season and need to see that latest blockbuster or just get an English film fix. Prices are average and it's really easy to find just over the bridge from the old quarter of town. If you are a student studying in Innsbruck then you'll also get a discount.

Wonderful theater! We were in town and happen to walk by just as a movie we wanted to see was…read morestarting. We really had no intention of seeing a movie while traveling, but the girls had been counting down to Mamma Mia's release and the timing just worked out so well I couldn't say no. The kind man behind the booth saw we were in a rush and promptly sold us our tickets. He even sat us closer to the front (not in neck bending type seats, but the cheapest farther back seats) because those seats are less expensive. He explained to us that our film would be in German and didn't have sub-titles but that there ARE showings of English films a few times a day. We opted for the German version because we thought it would be super cool to do this as Americans. It really was an awesome experience, one I was really happy to give my children! The seats aren't reclining but they're larger than stadium seats and quite comfortable. The venue is incredibly clean and I love the life sized Oscar statue and cut outs of some of my favorite actors scattered around. I've never seen this type of decor in a movie theater and really liked it! The place was bright and light, which is also new to me in a movie theater. It had kind of a unique, futuristic type feel, which we loved! An all around awesome time here! It was the perfect way to cap off a night walking around this gorgeous town. We parked up the street to the left of the theater. It's free and open to all after 18:00. There's also a magnificent Italian restaurant there, which shouldn't be missed. Highly recommend for locals and tourist alike!
