Amy and the tooth oriented staff in the back are great. The office staff up front are not friendly. I got a strong man-hating vibe from them, which is a shame because I am kind and gentle and considerate yet physically strong. Like a lot of men. 1st visit was told would cost $400 cost $800. 2nd visit asked for cost of a tooth cleaning which was avoided by the receptionist. Appointment was at 10am. I arrived on time and was told to wait for the dental assistant who would come and retrieve me. After 30 minutes of no assistance or updates, just sitting there I told the receptionist I was leaving and never coming back. Maybe a good place for females as patients? I'm open minded they are not. Not a good fit for me at all. How people interact is very important to me as well as treating my fellow humans kindly. read more

I started seeing Dr Todd when another dentist mess up my bite big time. I had tried to get the other dentist to fix my bite but all they did was to grind down a good tooth rather than fix the mess up the bad cap they had installed. I had a friend refer me to Dr. Todd. The other dentist had left part of the fillings under the caps so I have to have all the caps removed and the old fillings removed. I now have a great teeth and no pain. I have continued to see Todd and also get regular cleaning too. I have always found all the people very competent and use up to date equipment for the best results. I am very glad I also had all the very old fillings from when I was a teenager removed too. The new caps and porcelain filling are great and I haven't had any problems. And the rest of the staff is also very competent! read more

So I'm only in here because my aunt chipped a tooth and I'm the moral support. While sitting in the waiting room, I can't help but notice how nice everyone is! The receptionist met my aunt with a smile and a friendly joke to make light of the dental emergency we were there for. She made everything calmer for us and my aunt was in good spirits when they called her in. The wait time was minimal too which was awesome. This is a great place to stop by if you need a dentist while vacationing in Montana. They even have k-cups and juice in the waiting room! read more

I have not wanted to write this review, but my conscience tells me that I should. First of all, the front office was very disorganized. I had to ask them if I should fill out a form because I was completely ignored when I came to the office. I thought I was coming for a cleaning and checkup, but it turned out all I got that day was a lecture by Dr. Amy which felt very authoritarian and unpleasant. Then she proceeded to tell me that because of my bite, I should have ALL my work removed and redone. I am 70 years old and told her I would never do that to myself besides the fact that I could not afford it. The only good experience I had, was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She was lovely. I didn't trust my instinct for a few months, but realized finally that I could never go back there, even though they advertised in Natural Life magazine. read more

I started going to the Kinney's 3 years ago because they are a mercury free office and I appreciate that. They have a calming environment and have one of the best receptionists in town, Linda, I adore her!! I see Todd and so do my children. My oldest son was treated by Dr. Todd to help with a misaligned bite that was primarily a preventative treatment. I was impressed the amount of attention and care my son received and the finished results are exactly what were going for. Dr. Kinney has removed all of my amalgam fillings and even corrected some less-than dental work I had done prior to receiving his care. Outstanding service and care. I unfortunately decided to switch dentists and go to the Kinney's because they claimed to be more natural and holistic and I was interested in being naturally healthy. On my second visit I was told that I had several cavities. I asked about treating them naturally but Amy said that was nearly impossible unless one stuck to a strict diet which she dismissed as near impossible. I was a bit surprised but didn't think much of it so I had the cavities filled. One the cavities was a molar that was persistently sore for weeks after they drilled and filled the cavity. Then it felt ok for maybe a month and then it started really, really hurting bad. I went back and was told that I needed a root canal! I was shocked and thought that this must have been caused by the drilling on that tooth that was done earlier. Amy tried to have me rushed to have the root canal done that day, but I was hesitant as I had heard that root canals were not healthy. I took my x-rays around and got some second opinions (one dentist said that he would not have even drilled the original cavities because they were so small). I was unsure what to do as I now felt like I could not trust Amy, and I felt like she could have been partly responsible for my tooth needing a root canal. I tried to express this concern to her and she denied any responsibility saying only, "Sometimes teeth just die." The timing of the tooth "just dying" being right after she had worked on it seemed suspicious, and I tried to indicate this to her. She eventually agreed to reduce the price of the crown that I would need after the root canal. Because I was in extreme pain from my tooth at this time, I decide to have the root canal done. She recommended Dr. Beebe to do the root canal and she would do the crown at a discount. I went with her recommendations. Strangely Dr. Beebe didn't even cap off the drilled out root canal with a temp crown because he said that Amy liked to do them herself. When I went into get the crown a week later, Amy questioned why there wasn't a temporary crown. Clearly there was poor communication here that resulted in my root canal being exposed to bacteria before it was sealed up. Now about a year and a half later, I'm experiencing tenderness and pain around the molar tooth with the root canal. I'm considering having the whole tooth removed, which is what I probably should have done in the first place and saved thousands of dollars. To sum up, I had a terrible experience with the Kinneys as dentist. They did not suggest or promote any natural tooth treatments or even try to educate me when I was specifically asking about natural treatments. Don't believe their claim to be pro-natural treatment. Amy was more aggressive at drilling and filling cavities that my previous dentist. Amy did not communicate clearly with Dr. Beebe about how the root canal should be temporarily capped off. Amy was quite concerned with making a cosmetically beautiful crown. So maybe they are a great place to go for cosmetic dentistry. However, as a regular dentist that is supposed to help customers attain better dental and whole body health, the Kinneys have failed on multiple levels. I would not recommend that people go to the Kinney Dental practice. read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews at all but we lost hundreds of dollars by coming here, my husband and I were just looking to establish a dentist in Bozeman when we moved here and just booked a routine teeth cleaning which is covered every 6 months. They said they accepted our insurance, but we were charged $230 for the cleaning that they said insurance would reimburse, but they never reimbursed it because it was charged differently. I would not recommend coming here if a cleaning costs that much and it seems as though they didn't even charge the visit to our insurance correctly which made none of it covered. I would have great things to say if it wasn't for this, but we lost a ton of money unfortunately :( read more
