We wanted to meet with him a few days before we wanted to get our tattoo. As soon as we walked in we were blown away at how awesome the shop was and how friendly he was. Moving forward we will always come to King's Tide for our tattoos when we are in Maui. It was great conversation, everything was so clean, and his work was above and beyond what we had in our heads. We are both so happy with our tattoos. We highly recommend this shop to anyone that is out here.

We were excited about putting it in our new wine bar/tap room in Sonoma. We found our wonderful friend Philip and he facilitated the sale and offered us great ideas about the piece. Justin and Jesse, who also work for Lik, were just as excited for us and the three of them spent time really making the experience even more of a MUST-have-it experience. We cannot wait to unveil it at our soft-opening!

I have a tinge of regret about not knowing his work earlier. His most expensive work the Phantom fetched 6.5 million. I've seen a version of it at this gallery but I bet the original is probably going to render me speechless for hours. The subject is the Antelope Canyon in AZ. A slot canyon carved out by natural flowing water over the course of millions of years. Although Adam and I fell in love with one of his work called the Scarlet Moods. It made sense to me when I first saw it. It beckoned for me to come closer. It's one of his newer work. It's a striking contrast between the whiteness of the aspen trees and the surrounding snow against the fiery red/orange leaves. PEACEFUL and yet seductive. I wish I can share a picture of his work but no photographs allowed. You can view his work here: lik.com

I've been intrigued by Moana Glass for years and since we had an extended stay in Maui, I knew doing the glass blowing class and making our own glass sculpture was an activity that I was super interested in. It did not disappoint. First, upon check in, Dan was just awesome. Explaining to us the choices and options we had in front of us and carefully explaining how everything would work and what the process would be like. When it was time to start, we were introduced to our teacher, Yashu, and he was amazing. He was so patient with us and he walked us through each and every step, answered every question, and was just an exceptional teacher and person. We had an incredible experience and we're so proud of our new glass fish! This is truly a unique experience and I can't recommend the activity any higher, it was incredible and so much fun! My husband Paul and I first discovered the Village Gallery in Lahaina in 1994. We were delighted…read moreto see beautiful, original art by local artists. Over the years we have purchased paintings, glass sculptures and jewelry from Lynn at the gallery. In May of 2023 I visited the gallery with my friend Renee, who lives in Lahaina, and she admired the work of Tracy Dudley. In August of 2023 we were devastated to hear of the fire in Lahaina, and we knew that the gallery was lost along with all of the art. Fast forward to 2026 and Renee is getting married to James and I reached out to Tracey and Lynn to see if there was any art by Tracy that I could give them as a wedding gift. Sure enough there was, and I was so excited to give them two beautiful, framed prints with Tracy's and Lynn's help. As a fun note, when James saw the prints he commented, " hey isn't this the artist whose postcard has been on the refrigerator for years?" Indeed. If you want to see beautiful original art by local artists look no further than the Village Gallery, Maui 1191 HONOAPIILANI HWY, Unit 100, Lahaina near Cannery Mall, next to Bank of Hawaii

Inside I was met with a plethora of images that it became hard for me to know where to look next. A gentleman approached and asked if he could help me, and pointed me in the direction of the Hopkins exhibit. I was staring at the vivid canvases in the room and he approached again and we discussed the exhibit as well as the many fine artists housed in the gallery; artists such as Rembrandt, Dali, Remling, etc... We even discussed my meager art collection! I love this place and will go back to take a picture of the front view so that fellow yelpers may flock to this gallery upon recognizing the building.

My family has owned businesses on Maui since 1983; I'll certainly be sharing this incident with friends and family here--if any of my friends ran their businesses like this their doors would have been shuttered long ago.
