We stayed in room 5 initially and room 12 upon our return to Manchester. We stayed in a hotel that was double the nightly cost and it doesn't hold a candle to the Cow Hollow.

We liked: - The large rooms... they weren't my style (think lots of very shiny wood) - They have thick walls, so it was quiet - Good thick curtains to keep out the light (save me from my hangover) - The uber-strong showers - The staff let us drop our bags off early in the morning, even though we didn't check in until after midnight. All in all, it seems aright. Breakfast wasn't included in the £75 rooms (!) ...but you can go and find bargainous big breakfast nearby, so it works out okay.

Check-in took me less than 5 minutes total. No issues, no hassle and they even comped me a breakfast for the next morning, which is typically £17.50. So that was nice. The room, it was amazing. Big, beautiful and very accommodating. The bed was great, large, comfortable and I fit on it, which seems to be a rarity. In the bathroom was a large jet tub and a large shower. Very well done and classy. The room came with a nice flat screen TV and free view stations. One entire wall of my room was a giant window overlooking Manchester, which was great! Now to the lesser parts of this place. There is a large lounge to the right of check-in. It has many tables, seats, a flat panel TV and a full bar. There always seemed to be two or three people working at the bar, which was rarely super busy. If you went up to the bar for a pint, they would tell you to go sit down and they'll come get your order and bring it to you. I sat down for 10 minutes waiting, eyeballing these guys who were standing around doing nothing. This happened multiple times while I was here. Suck. With my comped breakfast waiting for me, I headed down to the restaurant. I was seated as far in the back as humanly possible, which the rest of the restaurant wasn't very full at all. It was buffet style, with an omelet/egg bar. Took me 15 minutes to get a cheese and ham omelet. Really? Were they raising the chicken and waiting for it to drop the eggs right there? When I finally get my omelet, I head back to my table only to find that they have sat someone else there already. WTF!?!?!1one! The food was good, so that was nice, once I had a table to eat it on. There was also some mysterious shortage of glasses, bowls and plates. You'd think they'd have that figured out. All in all, the hotel is very nice and modern. I enjoyed my stay there and may or may not stay there again when I am back in town.

Had to stay in a room that hovered around a cosy 30-31 degrees Celsius day and night. The thermostat reading is from 3:30 am. The windows only open a sliver ( i suspect because they don't want anyone jumping when the guests' brains finally liquefy from being stuck in a brick oven and they seek to actually escape the hell in which they now find themselves). On the bright side, the staff are very kind and apologetic -- they should be commended for fielding what I'm sure are a ceaseless barrage of complaints only ending once the guests succumb to heat stroke. So, in summary, stay here if you wish to fulfill a fantasy of knowing what a slow broiled potato must feel like.

We stayed here for two nights over the last few weeks - once on our way into England, and once on our way out - and both times were seamless. I booked ahead online, via booking.com, and would say the prices are reasonable. It's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. The whole place was very clean and well kept, all staff we interacted with were very friendly, it's equipped with a large (and beautiful) bar/restaurant, and there is even a big outdoor patio space in their courtyard to enjoy. Our room had one queen size bed, a big chair, standard tv/desk, and a good size bathroom. It was literally spick and span, spotless. Almost to a fault because you could really smell the cleaning products/bleach in the bathroom. What was very important for us is to have a pack-n-play (or "cot" as they call it in England) in our room for our 10-month old son. I saw online ahead of time that they provide these upon request, so I called to reserve one and lo and behold there was one waiting for us in the room upon arrival. Plus it was very nice quality, looking pretty much unused. So, so appreciated! On our first night in, we ordered room service. The menu has a decent amount of options, but is a little on the pricey end if you ask me. We both opted for a burger, and it was so-so. Most importantly was the tasty wine and beer that we'd ordered as well. Very speedy delivery to the room as well. And on our second night in, we dined in the restaurant - Brasserie Blanc. What a lovely experience! The decor and atmosphere is truly delightful. Very open and spacious, with a glass ceiling in one area. The booths and seating are very pretty, with different colored couches and chairs, made up of well-match patterns and colors. The menu here is an expansion of the room service. I throughly enjoyed my fish curry! Other last things to note: there is an airport shuttle, however it's not for everyone. I believe you have to have some special kind of booking in order to use it, and it also only runs beginning at 9am. So that was a bit of a bummer having to order taxis both ways.
