There's no queues here and darn few delays. This was a private pre op visit for tests, heart trace, bloods, height, weight etc all to decide fitness for surgery due next Monday morning.
Once my tests were carried out over 10 minutes it was a 10 minute wait to go in to meet the (left handed) anaesthetist. The level of gentle care is notable. All in all I waited 25 minutes so in and out in under 45 minutes.
He sounded chest and heart. He gave a good to go, instructed fasting from midnight Sunday and its general anaesthetic to suppress the central nervous system to controlled unconsciousness.
It's the best one with two stages for the victim. First it's 'count back from 10' and next a voice, usually female, will say it's all done and it worked well. If they just say it's all done then you've questions needing answers.
I do reflect on my ability to pay against many who can't. By many I mean millions of people who pay tax. In my case the need for surgery was realised on a paid investigation 8 weeks ago. I postponed surgery about 2 weeks as I'd a month long holiday mostly in England already planned.
Had I not had ability to pay I'd be in huge pain and the reality of continuing serious infections that cause greater harm to a body for at least two years and in truth at least four. The cost of not doing things is never mentioned in health; here again it's crazy.
The costs of keeping me waiting for surgery would be greater over 2/3 years waiting in respect of GP appointments, a raft of medicines, expensive blood and other hospital tests so it's not socialism to provide prompt surgery it's economic insanity to delay surgery.
We've had a perfidious government in office 14 years. The damage to the health and wellbeing of our people and the structure of tearing apart the fabric of our country is catastrophic by any measure.
These charlatans recognise two truths, first the worst that can happen them is to be voted out of office, just look at the antics of Ian Paisley jnr, a crook. But once they are in with any realistic majority they will hold out five years regardless of the destruction of the country.
Second they can make themselves millionaires just look at what a British chancellor of the exchequer was doing while chancellor (Nadhim Zahawi) defrauding the very exchequer he was the minister for that led to a 5 million quid fine from HMRC. Minister means to serve not to steal.
When I say millions are affected by poverty and can't afford private health just look at in work benefits here - the single biggest benefit pay out next to housing benefit to private landlords. Millions of poverty waged workers are subsidised by government so they earn their poverty working for Government, Starbucks, Mc Donald's. Amazon and on it goes. The working poor subsidise the super rich and they can't afford private healthcare rather they rely on benefits and food-banks in the 4th largest export economy on earth. read more
