I was not surprised to find a solid 5-star rating (elsewhere online) from other reviewers. Ray…read moreMcCloy is the most knowledgeable, honest, down-to-earth tire installer I ever met. I've been driving for 40 years, which means I bought more tires than I care to remember. I thought I knew a lot, but Ray put me in my place. Where do I start? First, I was watching the technician, Matt, install a tire new tire on another customer's rim. I watched him carefully wire-wheel the beads on the rims AND apply bead sealant. Who does that? When I asked Ray if that was something additional, he was quick to point out he does ALL installations that way. He does not want customers returning with avoidable problems. Since I took interest in the process, Ray began asking how much I knew about tire installation. I had no idea the yellow dot on a tire is meant for alignment with the valve stem when mounting a tire. I had no idea installing raised white letters or whitewalls on the INSIDE made the rim more difficult (often requires more weights) to properly balance. There were more lessons and demonstrations, but I don't want to lose more readers than necessary. So my tires showed up less than 24 hours after my initial visit. I rolled in and watched Ray and Matt go to work (i.e., they don't usher you off to a waiting area where you can't see what they're doing). Matt mounted the tires and Ray balanced them. Ray did not like the results on one of my rims during balancing, so he sent it back to Matt to rotate the tire on the rim 180 degrees. Again...who does that? Most places would just load the rim up with more weights, but not Ray! (Disclaimer: My tires did not have the yellow dots on them for valve stem alignment, which is not uncommon. So getting it correct the first time must be a crap shoot). Anyway, Matt rotated it, and the wheel balanced perfectly. Finally, the price. I purchased tires online before, but the best price I found for the tires I bought directly from Ray was $150.00 each. At McCloy's I paid $150.00 (plus tax) for each one OUT THE DOOR! That included mounting, balancing and disposal. Then Ray tells me to stop by anytime for tire rotation, which he recommends every 3,000 miles because of the great roads in the area. He also mentioned the wear on my front tires could be from any of a number of things, including my driving traits, and recommended an alignment check. I'm taking his advice on all fronts. I scheduled an appointment with another reputable local business at Paul's Front End Shop (search reviews elsewhere online for Paul's too - they are equally impressive!). My first time at McCloy's, but I am a customer for life!

NTB/Mavis tire McCandless Pa…read more I got screwed over one too many times today. On 7/19/26I had a blowout on my camper trailer on rt119 so we take all the wheels off I took them to NTB in Mt. Pleasant PA told them to put 4 new tires, valves stems on them. They were real nice and got right on it said it would take a half hour to 45 min. I went got lunch when I got back they were done and it was pouring down rain so I paid them and backed in they loaded them into my truck.Long story shorter 40 miles away I'm on the turnpike and the dry rotted valve stem breaks now we are 1 foot off the white line changing a tire again. I went to NTB McCandless on 7/22/26 I told the girl that was at the desk the whole story and first she told me she as short staffed then it went to she would have to check with her manager to see if they would fix it so I came back on 7/23/26 spoke with the manager told him the whole story and he said he would take care of it but once again short handed. I totally get he is having issues at the store because he told me himself. So he made me an appointment for 1:00 on Sunday 7/26 I was there early and had an infant baby with me so 2 hours later the girl comes back tells me everything is done the tire were in the back of my truck and was ready to go. I specifically asked her if they balanced the wheels she assured me they were balanced so I left without checking. We went to put them on the camper and there were not any wheel weights on any of the rims. Go back at 8:00 this morning 7/28 1st one in the door and the same girl all 3 times which is my 4th time back to NTB McCandless she proceeds to tell me that my tires were balanced on Sunday and I would have to wait. When I told her this was my 5th F ing to NTB to get my tires fixed. She immediately said I was not going to talk to her like that, she said I had to leave. I told her after 5 trips to get tires repaired I was not leaving until they were balanced I walked outside backed my truck up to the door opened the tailgate and sat on the curb to wait. Then the next thing I know is 2 McCandless police officers are giving me my last warning to leave or be arrested and have my truck towed and if I step foot on NTB property I will go to jail. AS MUCH AS I LIKE A CHALLENGE my meds are working and I had better things to do so I declined and left. I go 22 miles each way to NTB Cranberry I told them the whole story and Ashley said she would have it taken care of it if I would leave them and come back so I did. I went back later in the day she took care of balancing my tires with no problem. While I was there I asked her for the regional managers email address she said she would have to call him to get permission to share his information. She came back and told that he "was aware of the situation and declined to give me his information" not even allowed to have his name or email I just wanted to make him aware of what happened and I would have left it at that. Like I said meds are working. But now I'm here after 6 trips to an NTB over 100 miles and many hours later and I am told out right that I can't have contact information for management. To be fair they did give me a phone number to call which I'm sure is going to be one of those automated systems that will be a waste of time.

Paul's Front End Shop earned another customer for life…read more Here's my story: My daughter and my four grandkids stopped at our house on their way from upstate New York to their new home in Louisiana. We noticed a leak under the Honda minivan, which ended up being the power steering rack and pinion sector. I replaced it, which is not for the faint of heart, but it saved her roughly $1,200 in labor. I knew from the beginning the van's alignment likely needed adjusting when I was done. So I made a 7:00 AM appointment for the following day at Paul's. I arrived at the garage at 6:45 the following morning. Paul drove the van in the garage, put the alignment equipment on the van, and was done in minutes flat. He backed the vehicle out of the garage, took it for a test drive and returned minutes later. Paul told me I did everything correctly, and the alignment was perfect with no adjustment necessary. I was happy to shell out the money for the cost he quoted me on the phone the day prior, but Paul charged me SIGNIFICANTLY LESS than what he quoted me, insisting he only charges for the work he does. That is unlike any other auto shop (especially any car stealership) to which I ever took a vehicle for alignment. By the way, I was on my way home BEFORE my scheduled appointment. Try to accomplish THAT at a stealership! I'm already a Paul's Front End Shop customer for life based on one visit! In fact, I just made my next appointment to have my own vehicle checked after a great experience at McCloy's Tire (search online reviews for McCloy's Tire Service too if you want an equally great experience).

DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE!!! Wish I could give "0" starts!…read more Why: 1) They installed new tires and all the pressures were different 2) Spin balancing wasn't done properly as there was a lot of shake when driving and braking 3) Manager argued with me even though their work (see video) was horrible. This place is an absolute joke. Do not use them for anything. Ordered tires through Tire Rack and they were a recommended installer. They installed the tires and when I looked things over, there are a bunch of small scratches on my wheels. I have an ongoing discussion with TR. Just as bad, when I started my vehicle, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System light is illuminated and all the tires were at different pressures. What a disaster. Ended up in an argument with one of the guys and left. They didn't charge me, but I had to go to King's to have the tires spin balanced since they didn't do it right and was charged by King's. What a nightmare - will never use this place again and you should avoid them too.
