Farmers Markets are so much fun, great local food. Tuesdays 9-2:30

We enjoy this shopping center with lovely plazas, Farmers Market and shay places to sit and contemplate... upscale restaurants, beautiful clothes too. The Farmers market is Tuesday Mornings- ripe Papaya is a big deal and available here. Lots of fruits and specialty breads/pastries too! ( Grocery Stores sell green papaya that takes a few days to ripen)

Decided to spend the morning shopping around the village. Kings shops was our first stop. We weren't quite sure what they would have, but we were on vacation, so we decided to stop by. Note that we are from Oahu, so there's nothing that is different from Oahu. However, it was Black Friday, so there were some deals. We only shopped at two places here. One was Rip Curl, who was having a spend $80 and get a free hat or shirt. Not a super awesome Black Friday deal, but they had some nice things. My husband ended up buying a couple pairs of shorts and shirts. Then, he got a shirt for free. The second place we went to was San Lorenzo. They had an even better deal of 40% off with an additional 15% off. They even had bins of separated for $25. They were super cute, but I was on a time crunch to check out before the 40% off went away and the 30% off started. Many of the stores did offer Kama'aina or military discount, but of course could not be stacked with the other discounts. Overall, it is a higher end strip mall with lots of different stores for tourist. We came on the perfect day because the stores were offering a lot of different deals. It is a very nice area with a nice view. These are the only shops within walking distance from the hotels in the village other than queens marketplace. There's a parking lot and also a gas station as well.

Variety of shops and cafe, prices are somewhat reasonable, parking lot available, facilities are clean.

Another small shopping complex in the village area. Since the queen shops carry most of the traffic this is the secondary option. Anchor is a few restaurants, Tommy's Bahamas' and a Macy's. A few others and a nice art gallery. Nothing special, no entertainment, grab and go food or anything of that nature. Staff in the shops are nice. I did see some payphones and Soda machine. Mainly came here to get extra steps while walking around and hit up the Macy's for some clearance buys. The stores here are a bit higher end and spendy then the queens. More to golfers since near the course. Did have a massage tent near the back.

Appetizers and view of Kings Lake.

Great Tommy Bahama store. Ice cream stuff is overrated and the restaurant that we went to on water side was awful.

Shops are on the high end side, if that is the case then they need to accommodate with high end convenience from restaurants to restrooms. IGM (Island Gourmet Marketplace) needs a little more seating area outside. I spent a lot of money on my family and wanted to eat there so we can finish shopping after we were done eating. No table, no seats but 3 for a family of 7. We left afterwards instead of shopping because the heat made it uncomfortable and with no seating for 4 it was just a downward spiral with fussy kids. It's ok, we spent our money in Kona town.

That's when I visited Tiffany & Co here. I was just looking around and were greeted by the sweetest workers who didn't care if I was there to buy jewelry or not. Usually, I would get a greeting and that's about it. They would go back to chit chatting with each other. But not here! Everyone was so welcoming. We were helped by Mika. She showed us some watches and since I was there, I asked if I can get my rings cleaned. While waiting for rings to be cleaned, a couple more employees asked if we needed any help or wanted anything to drink. We politely declined, but the manager, Hassan took it upon himself and us some drinks in a Tiffany bag (one water bottle and one sparkling water) and said it's a hot day... we may need it later. He also gave us some cookies that are popular on the big island. A small gesture like that goes a long way and we were just so appreciative. Overall, such friendly staff that seems to work together as a team. No one cared if I was already being helped by someone else, they will do whatever to make you feel comfortable and do not need anything else. Seems like the manager is leading by example himself, which is why he such wonderful employees. I would definitely come back. Overall, I definitely recommend this Tiffany & Co if you're in the area and are looking to buy jewelry.
