Justina is extremely knowledgeable and has the amazing ability to observe students and quickly recognize what we need to do to improve. She is always patient, complimentary and encouraging. Justina's enthusiasm is contagious so when she explains and shows us how to improve our dancing we're inspired to reach beyond our comfort zones to learn new skills. We always learn a lot from Justina and have a great time doing it! Sadly for us and fortunately for you, Justina has moved back home. Our loss truly IS your gain. I enjoyed my time at the Mezcal Lounge on Saturday…read more The place was full of people, music was pretty good, bartenders were busy. Over 100 people stayed until the last song. Overall, the sound quality is good. I am a club sound engineer and have no complaints. There are no speakers pointing to near the bar, so you can expect it to be quieter although that also results in muffled lyrics. For full experience, dance in front of the lighting truss. There is a lot of VIP seating, including one area above the dance floor. I didn't go into VIP areas, but I didn't see dedicated speakers for them and so the music is likely quieter there. Lights are moving 3x3 LED matrix heads. They have enough of them. For the right music, they can become strobes. I love strobes! They have enough bartenders to keep your waiting time to a minimum. Demographics trended toward younger women of whom there was no shortage. :) Special thanks to security. They mopped drink spills very quickly. That is always appreciated. Overall, I plan to bring my dance partner here another time even though I live 200+ miles away. P.S. At the end of that particular night, they switched into full-on rave mode. It made it special. :)

The instructor who teaches the classes is very knowledgable, skilled, friendly, and good at TEACHING. A lot of the people who go to the classes all know each other (and the instructor), and they create a feeling of community rather than cliques, making you feel comfortable learning a new skill rather than self-conscious. You don't have to go as a couple, but it is encouraged, simply because it seems that there are more women that show up than men, and the steps are different for different genders, but you'll see a lot of women take over the men's roles just to balance things out. After you learn a few new steps, you'll rotate through partners to practice what you've learned. It sounds scary but it's a lot of fun! The lessons were super affordable. I really wish we had the time to go back. I absolutely loved it!

A variety of classes are offered for a variety of different age ranges. This studio has one large room downstairs and one smaller loft room upstairs. Unfortunately the layout and location of the classes didn't work for us. My daughter took her 1st dance class here with another toddler friend. The class was located upstairs in the loft room, which for many reasons was not ideal. First safety, the stairs are tall and there is nothing blocking them. I felt that I needed to stay to ensure my daughter didn't go down the stairs. Second, The area for parents to watch is just a line of chairs in the same room as the children who are taking the classes, we found this to be disruptive and didn't support learning for our daughters. Third, the teacher was nice but there was a lack of strictness/structure. Overall if you have a toddler I wouldn't recommend this studio
