I quickly learnt that tree / bush work is not to be handled by landscapers unless they are cutting a few branches no higher than 5 foot from the ground. Well Clearview sent a great arborist (someone that has actually studied trees!) by the name of Bob. He spent around 45 minutes explaining what trees I was dealing with, their present condition, the best course of action to take and a plan for the new year. This guy knows his stuff and by the time he leaves - you too will know exactly what is going in your garden. The price was actually in line with the landscapers and way cheaper than some other tree specialists who must have thought I was related to royalty. The day of actual work was scheduled for a week later and what a professional bunch of guys. They carefully climbed the yews listening to their team lead who stood next to me asking exactly what I was looking for as well as guiding me when I was clearly unclear as to what should be done. One hour later and I have a great looking yew wall that is neat and well prepared to fill in over summer and save me thousands of dollars in ripping down, grinding and replacing with new trees. The bid for the tree was in line but the bid for the rose bush was too high so we negotiated a fair price. Nemias seemed to know how to prune a rose bush. It takes time and patience. Cutting it wrong can and most likely will kill the plant. The rose bush in question at my house produces a huge amount of deep red roses each year so I am very particular of its pruning. He assured me his people knew how to do it. When the day came they did an excellent job on cutting the crepe. However they used a "Hedge Trimmer", that's right a "Hedge Trimmer" to cut the rose bush, which took all of "2 minutes". It was obvious they had no idea how to trim the plant. For the $60 they charged I could have gone into my garage and mutilated the plant with my own hedge trimmer. The site manager Oscar, assured me his man knew what he was doing. He didn't. They didn't. When it comes to trimming trees, I am sure they are excellent. DO NOT, however, let them touch anything that requires "real knowledge" of horticulture. You will be greatly disappointed.

Some companies ask for ridiculous amounts of money. And just as bad, they are difficult to deal with. One company wouldn't give me a price without coming to see it. That part is fine. But then they wouldn't come unless I met with them. For what?? It's in front of the house. There's no gate. Just go look at it! Josue from Premier Arborworks came, looked and got back to me. He said it's not even a tree. Just a tall bush (I'm blind). And he gave a reasonable price. He asked if I also wanted to have my magnolia tree pruned. Yes! It was really overgrown. We did haggle a bit. But we settled on a price for the 2 things that worked for us both. He came with an assistant and took care of it. No drama. When I went out to say hello, he pointed out that there were actually 2 that were falling over and one good one. Asked if he should take both that were leaning. I said yes. He didn't charge extra! That is such a wonderful surprise in 2026 when there are people who want to charge you for giving you your bill! This was fast, reasonably priced and most importantly, NOT stressful

A bike carrier hitch failed on my vehicle while I was driving at highway speed. The carrier and bikes came off, landed upright, and spun around in the roadway. This could have caused a major accident. Jose, who happened to be nearby, avoided hitting it, stopped traffic, and took control of the situation. He carried the hitch and bikes to the side of the highway and then helped me safely navigate backing down the shoulder so I could retrieve everything. He had absolutely nothing to gain by helping me. In fact, he put himself at risk to protect other drivers and help a complete stranger. I tried to give him $50 as a thank-you, and he refused to accept it. All he asked was that I leave his business a good Google review and refer customers to him. Jose is a prince. Honest, brave, calm, and decent.
