Kingburger was just what I needed after a day of hiking. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and the fries were crispy with just the right seasoning. I also got a shake that was good. If you're in the Rocksprings area, you gotta stop in here. It's a favorite for locals and travelers. read more

I showed up 10 minutes before closing time and got a pretty cold response from the proprietor. This is almost the only place to eat in town, so I guess he is used to getting away with that. The burger tasted like something I would have gotten in a high school cafeteria. It was edible, but that is about all I can say about it. Next time I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

I was told this was one of the only restaurants in Rocksprings, Tx so my choice dining establishments was severely limited. Kingburger's approach to burgers is an interesting one. I wish I had gotten a picture of the menu, because it read like a senile person had written it. For example, there was a ham and cheese sandwich combo, and then there was a cheese and ham meal. Also, what is the difference between a kingburger with cheese and jalepenos and a cheeseburger with jalepenos? By the end of the meal, this burning question still had not been answered. On the bright side, all of the burgers were around $3 (just the burgers, though. Fries are an extra $1.25). This place looks like it was built in the 50s (or whenever wood paneling was super popular) and hadn't been touched since. The burgers were bigger than what you would expect for $3. I almost couldn't finish my burger and I was starving. (I got the double kingburger with jalepenos and guac, btw). Flavorwise, it was very bland. There was barely any guac and maybe 3 jalepenos. Ironically, Kingburger's claim is that they have the "best chicken fried steak." Bottom line: If you are desperate for a bite to eat, this place will do in a pinch. Just don't go out of your way to eat here. read more

We stopped in for lunch and both got the Chicken Fried Steak special for $8.50, which included fries or baked potato, side salad, Texas toast and iced tea. This was one of the best Chicken Fried Steaks I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, tender, a huge portion with excellent gravy. Based on this and the amount of burgers that were being ordered by others, I'd guess the burgers are damn good as well. Keep in mind this is a diner, most cooking is being done on a flat top griddle or deep fryer. This is a family run diner, there were 3 maybe 4 generations cooking, serving and taking orders. All very friendly. If I'm ever back in Rocksprings I'll be sure to stop here again. read more

Good country cooking! Try to avoid deer season as it's packed with hunters. Chicken Fried Steak is the best. But really anything off the menu is great. Burgers are great. Shrimp platter is great. read more

Called in an order on our way through rock springs.. ( we were probably 30-40 min out when we called ) when we did walk in we found that they had not even stated on our burgers and steak fingers ,, so we had to wait to get the food to go . food was decent prices were inline with what you would expect read more

I was in town on business, and this place was recommended for a good, quick lunch. We walked in before noon and the place wasn't exactly crowded. The lady behind the counter was very short and snappy when we placed our orders. I guess she's only nice to the locals. Apparently, you're supposed to know that when you arrive, you're supposed to go directly to the counter and place your order. We didn't know that, and proceeded to the table first. After that confusion was cleared up, and with the order placed, the lady from behind the counter came by the table a few times and started being friendlier towards us (too late, you blew your chance at a tip). We both had the cheeseburger with onion rings and tea. I will say that the burgers and the onion rings were good enough that I'll probably stop in there again if I'm back in town. 5 stars for burger and onion rings -2 stars for rude empoyee =3 stars total. read more

The enchiladas are above average which warrant the 4 stars review. I enjoy eating here every time we come through rocksprings. The fountain drinks are not free refills which is a bummer. The fries are delicious and the burgers are also pretty good. I haven't eaten their chicken fried steak but have had some friends say it's pretty good. And despite being in such a remote locale, they have a TV that had college football so that's a win! read more

Everything is great here. Large portions and low cost. I've been coming here for 17 years and the quality has always been great. The menu is diverse, don't let the name fool you. The burgers are awesome, but so is the chicken fried steak and enchiladas. They recently started serving breakfast, but have not had the chance to try it yet. read more

Prices are good here. We ordered a 'senior' special enchilada plate. Fortunately it came with not a lot of food on the plate (one enchilada, some rice, and some beans). One of our waters tasted as if the ice cubes had been in the refrigerator way too long and one was fine. Fortunately we weren't very hungry since there are not many choices in Rocksprings. read more

I have eaten at the King Burger for many years. As restaurants come and go, this place is still standing. Best chicken fried steak always made fresh. Enchilada sauce is the owners very own recipe. The fresh salsa here is even purchased by the gallon by customers. They have $1.50 burgers every Wednesday!! Even the salads are large and fresh! Chili cheese fries and yummy milk shakes! Ice cream cones. They have it all! In regards to the other post: the senior plate does come with small portions which is what makes it senior (it's listed on the menu) most of those plates were created or name by customers who have been eating there for years. If you have ever worked in the food industry you know it's not a good feeling when someone comes in right before closing. Rudeness of course is never ok but of course it could happen. Definitely recommend this place. It's a must have any time I'm in town! read more

My husband went here while on vacation. The food was horrible and we could tell it was just microwaved. They forgot our drinks and we had to go up and ask for them. They also forgot the onions with my order, and when I went to the counter, the owner just stared at me and didnt say a word. He just walked away and came back with the onions. He never said a thing to me, even when I said thank you. He literally looked at me like he hated me. It was really creepy. I guess they don't like people from out of town. The only way this place remains open is that they are the only place in town. read more
