I'm 65 and needed to move out of one space in Wiilmington, NC to another with a lifetime of personal and business belongings. The owners are the fittest and strongest people, as were their other employees who assisted in my move. This move was a Herculean effort during this oppressive heatwave, and these people did so much heavy lifting to successfully transfer my furniture, artwork, books, kitchenware, and past NYC gift wrapping business supplies, and I'm so grateful I was blessed to find them and that they were available when I needed them. I was barely given a month's notice that I had to leave the former location so I was extremely stressed, however, the owners of this company are the most kind and supportive people you could ever need during a distressful move such as mine. My move went over the 4 hour 4 men estimate because I own so many things, but they were very flexible and accommodating to continue showing up for me until every single item was safely moved. Not one single thing was broken or damaged as they took great care to wrap and handle my belongings. My locations were only a couple miles apart so Fisher did not charge travel time. Another moving company I had interviewed first was going to charge 1 hour travel time of over $200, stating they had to drive to and from me and then between my two locations, and I had to pay for that--imagine the nerve of a company expecting you to pay for them to show up and earn pay for work! I'm not sure how YELP orders companies, but that was one of the top 5 listed and they should be much lower just because of that horrible policy. Fisher Moving & Delivery charges very fair prices, and worked with me to make it affordable. When the move went over the original estimated time, the additional charge was more than fair for the 4 people. Everyone was professional and friendly during the entire time and I will never forget how they showed up for me and got me through this change. Lou was able to accommodate the short notice. He arrived as scheduled and cleaned the upholstery (sofa, loveseat and chair). Looked great and very reasonably priced. We found ourselves in a pinch with some work having to be done at our home that ultimately required us to completely empty the bottom floor of our house. I never really received a quote but the night before I had mentioned needing movers, we had randomly got a call to confirm our appointment, spoke with someone broke down the numbers and decided it'll be worth hiring these guys. Was told a two man crew to move my large but only 22 items would arrive at 10 am. The first of the two man crew arrived at 10:10 am. I was then informed the other crew member, got his times wrong and wouldn't be there until 11 am. To not waste time and dilly dally, I offered to assist my now one man crew. I had 6 moving blankets and mentioned needing those on a few very valuable items. I was looked at like a deer in headlights, he had no clue how to wrap a moving blanket around a piece of furniture. There was very little care for my items. I tried to offer to carry a 135 year old piece of furniture and not use a dolly, dolly was used. I'm no professional mover, but honestly felt like I hired someone off the street to lift a couple things. While I'm thankful that I "wasn't charged for the second guy" except the 30 minutes he was there, the rate was configured on a 2 man crew so I paid for myself to assist their guy, but was only charged an hour and a half time vs the 2 hour minimum. Overall, I've got some banged up pieces of furniture now. It's truly icing on the cake to the whole ordeal we've gone through with this house. If you're looking to move boxes or junk, these are the guys, but if you're looking for professional movers, keep scrolling.
