King Hakon's Hall was built around 1247. It was the largest of the royal residences in the 13th-century when Bergen was the political center of Norway. The grounds are lovely & views of the harbor are impressive. There was a small gift shop with books, crystal, jewelry and prints.
Today it is used as a royal residence and banquet hall. The rooms are pretty bare. When his son Magnus married Danish princess Ingeborg in 1261, 2000 guests were invited.
