This mural was painted by Garrett Jett aka Jumbo Jett, an up and coming local artist. It was commissioned by and located on the side wall of King Gyros overlooking their parking lot. It depicts a cartoon version of one of their gyros, with eyes and arms, interacting with a cartoon version of a styrofoam carton with shredded meat and salad in it. The cartoon has eyes like the gyro.
The gyro has the word "GYRO" above it and the carton has the words "NEW YORK STYLE CHICKEN & RICE" next to it. It is all against a red and orange patchwork background. It is a nice mural that is in the style of a caricature that you would get at an amusement park.
With it overlooking a parking lot. It is easy to find a place to park and get out to take a closer look. You can also pull into the business and view it from the comfort of your vehicle.
As with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a very long stop. I was there less than 15 minutes, and that included me getting my meal. I do not see this as a destination trip. You will more than likely visit here to eat at the restaurant and the mural would be a bonus. read more
