If I could give a million stars to this beautiful, one of a kind small business and the humble, kind, friendly, chill, incredible duo behind it, I would. King and curated is an experience like no other. I would even go as far as to say Lauren and Todd have such excellent positive, nurturing energy, that any negativity that dares to intrude this bubble of superior craftsmanship meets infinite good vibes, would probably be tossed out Jeffrey style on fresh prince, like a splinter of negativity that ain't no body got time for. And I stand by that, all day!! I started following this beautiful shop that is definitely more than just that, I wanna say just before the lock downs. They came up on my suggestions on the gram bc let's be real the algorithm reads your mind, and it knows I love one of a kind pieces. After looking at their page I knew I needed to start playing the lotto so I could grow up and be like Mr. T, except all king and curated. (I'm really showing my age here) It started with a gift for a friend that was so perfect it actually hugged her soul. I mean that. So of course I now needed sparkly things for me. I am a fan of Delicate never seen before items so of course I bought quite a few things. I quickly added so much to my jewelry box. But during this time I got to feel like family. And not the omg aunt Em gets the most for the holidays but more like omg I hope aunt Em comes so we can talk shit at the table. Like a statler and waldorf at the table vibe. But in the best way. Every single time I came in, even if I didn't get anything, Lauren and Todd would let me browse or shoot the shit and make me feel happy. Always so nice when I came in. After reaching a personal milestone, I decided to treat myself to a custom. I am a simple woman. I didn't know where to begin, I never created anything like this for myself, but Lauren set up a consultation and made me feel so comfortable. She guided me based on things I liked on the gram and have already purchased and I treated myself to a stunning custom Diamond necklace. It came out perfect! Truly one of a kind. She took her time with me picking out the right stone and I loved the process. She sketched it and was so clear about the entire process. Something I appreciated so much. She sent me lots of 3d pics via email which was so awesome, and honestly never do any justice. It was finished so fast I was so happy. She put in so much work, and attention to detail, really going above and beyond. We did a few more perfect small pieces. How could I not, beautiful work from amazing people who are super thoughtful and thorough, count me in. At this point my boyfriend (now fiancé) knew he had to come here when it was time. My fiancé is a mechanic, a true man's man. Can build me a house and a car, but design a ring. Whoa he needed help. Sure enough Lauren and Todd came to the rescue and designed the most beautiful, and most me, ring, using my mothers diamonds to make it even more special. The ring ended in a hell yeah when the question was popped and I couldn't be happier with it. Everyone gushes when they see it. It's sooooo sparkly!! I had recently moved from the city to Beacon and I still needed to get my wedding band for my wedding that was 1.5 months away. I didn't have time to go to a major jewelry store in the city anymore so I decided to find somewhere local. That's when I came across King + Curated. The shop is so quaint and welcoming and Lauren is an absolute doll to work with. I was a little worried asking her if she could make a custom wedding band since my wedding was so soon but she said it would be no problem and would get the job done. Well, she definitely did! Lauren is extremely professional, talented, smart, and friendly. I didn't have any idea what design I wanted and she suggested a unique custom one to make it extra special. I loved the idea and ran with a custom design that featured stones to match my husbands band. I provided her an inspiration board and she came up with a few designs. After I selected the design, she created a 3D rendition, so I could grasp the full look and feel. Lauren went above and beyond to make my band feature extremely tiny hematite stones that 1) are rare and not easy to find and 2) very difficult to cut into the tiny size I wanted. Through her extraordinary talents and dedication she was able to get these stones, and in the shape I wanted. Time was of the essence but she worked overtime to get it done and I can't appreciate it enough. My ring met way beyond my expectations and I teared a little when she showed it to me. I'm forever grateful that I moved to Beacon and found her shop. Every day I stare at my hand and feel so lucky to have this custom band. Working with King and Curated was hands down the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!! I gave them a very precious family heirloom to make into a new engagement ring. I wanted to support a small local business and wanted the experience to feel special. It was anything but! Lauren lacked warmth and care. There were a number of points of miscommunication. When I expressed those points, there was no apology ever. All of Lauren's email responses were defensive and put blame on us, the clients, instead of her taking any accountability! I sent a long email with very clear points highlighting our exact feelings. To make things worse, We then got NO RESPONSE for ONE MONTH!! We had to reach back out again and ask if we could expect a response... how embarrassing for them! Again NO APOLOGY for taking so long to respond but just a cold response to schedule a phone call. So we got on the phone with Lauren and Todd. They showed up with big egos and continued to refuse to take any responsibility for very clear and simple examples of miscommunication. We gave bullet points and even quoted them, and they still refused. All we wanted was for them to attempt to understand our feelings as customers and they were incapable. It almost feels like they have never been told they did anything wrong in life. Harsh but true! We had to literally ask them for apologies multiple times and it was like pulling teeth. They continued to place blame back on us! They argued with such a lack of maturity and professionalism. Furthermore, they refused to give us a refund even though we are not completing the project with them. I regret signing any contract, but there's no way I would've imagined we would be treated this way. They had so many opportunities to prevent us to escalate to this point. There is no amount of money that would make me want to continue to work with these people. As a business owner myself, if I had a client response like this I would go above and beyond to apologize profusely and quickly, give a refund, and even offer to make it right going forward. But that level of customer service is completely lost on Lauren and Todd. It is so rare for me to write a bad review about any business, but this experience has been so astoundingly awful! I want people to know how we were treated so they can avoid having a similar experience. We are a small community and have also told a lot of local friends. Do NOT give King and Curated your business! They are rude and clueless about customer service. Go elsewhere! read more
