We drove to College Station to run errands and had heard mixed reviews about King Buffet so what better time than today to give it a try. The food was good, we believed it to be fresh, correct temperatures for each of the items we tried. Since it was after the lunch rush (1:45 PM) the restaurant was fairly empty maybe about 10 two toppers, which for us was great bc our plates were removed promptly. There are several big screen TV's throughout the restaurant, albeit they were on sports channels it was still something to watch. They have a Sushi and Hibachi bar as well as 5 food bars including desserts. They serve fountainPepsi products however they also have can CocaColas. The kids really wanted to try this place so we did. It's a buffet is Asian with some sushi as well. If you keep in mind that it is a buffet it is not bad. The place is nice and clean, the staff were very attentive and our drinks never ran dry. I waited a few days to write this to make sure no food poisoning happened and the good news is all 4 of us still have happy tummy. So if you want a buffet this is not a bad place.. read more

Pretty good food and selection, only reason for 4 stars is it's a bit pricey, $20 with water. Otherwise it's a good choice for a meal.

I'm going to rate a 4/5 with some caveats. I think for most people this would be a 2/5 or 3/5. It has an okay selection and the people in charge of keeping the food fresh do a decent job, which for a buffet is the bare minimum but, albeit they do a decent job. The waiters are good and they provide a friendly experience, more attentive than most restaurants. The ambiance is much better than what it was when this location was the restaurants predecessor, China King Buffet. It kind of has this 'lowkey half lit' sort of vibe and that might or might not be your cup of tea. Though, I don't know if environment and ambiance is too important if you're at a buffet. Why I probably rate this higher than most people would is because it exceeds expectations set by past experiences of the previous China King Buffet. In the previous restaurant I would probably say the American food like the pizza or ribs or chicken tenders would probably be the best things you could get and I think it's probably the opposite here at King Buffet. In the past, the hibachi noodles, that you could personally customize and watch cook in front of you, was the best thing you could have had, but they dropped in quality over time. Came here for the first time with my family. We came during lunch on a Thursday. I was looking forward to eating crab legs, but I didn't know they only serve it on Saturdays per one of the waitresses. Anyways, we got the lunch buffet and for 3 people, it was less than $40. Even if the food isn't high quality food, that's a very good deal to smash as much as you'd like lol. They had a variety of selections from sushi, fried foods, soups, Chinese food, salad and dessert bar, boils, etc. They even had a worker stir-frying raw meats and veggies by request. Staff are friendly and fast. They sat us down fast, removed our empty plates, and refilled our water cups. Lots of tables to dine on and lots of parking as well. Overall, pretty clean restaurant. When I received a flyer in the mail describing King Buffet, I was interested, so today I drove down and tried it. Upon entering there are multiple steam trays with all of the offerings. I tried multiple versions of the meats, rice, and sauces. With the lone exception of the "General Tso's " chicken, the meats were dry, bland and overcooked. The pork spring rolls were very chewy, but the fried rice was acceptable. Upon finishing up, I had leftovers and requested a take home box. I then paid for my meal and as I was leaving, I was told that I would have to pay AGAIN, for my leftovers. Will I go back? Not a chance, it just was'nt and isn't worth it. read more

The food was good and all, little burnt, but the service... so horrible!!! Server didn't even come to pick up the empty plates, and when we went to pay, it was 100$ because of some extra fee that they put on there without consent, and not to mention they made us pay extra because of the kids ages. The server took dirty dishes from other tables and put uneaten food back in the trays, that's literally disgusting, by the hibachi area, unattended food cooking, no one around, it was burning, and workers were not paying attention to anything and were on there phones, when confronted about charging extra, the owner smiled... workers couldn't answer basic questions about the place, most toilets were clogged and it stunk really bad in the bathroom, deserts tasted bad, lid to sprinkle container was off, grease on the ice cream maker... I went to eat at King buffet on Father's Day. The food was fresh. The people were friendly, and I had crab legs. I enjoyed the sushi. It was a good mix of sushi and very fresh. It's not a huge buffet, but they have some good things. Sashimi scallops and fried squid are favorites so far.

I went here with my girlfriend last week. Great food, great place, they just would not stop playing Taylor Swift.

I will never eat at this place again. They overcook the seafood. The Dungenous Crab Legs was cooked so long that the shell was rubbery, and the meat was shriveled up and stringy. The same for the Crawfish. The clams were so overcooked that they were shriveled up and not edible. the crab legs and the crawfish should not be boiled for more than 5-7 minutes. The clams you only cook until the shells start to open. The Honeydew melon had a taste of Insecticide (Raid comes to mind). I have been sick with diarrhea ever sense I ate there last Saturday. I went to the hospital, and they ran some tests, and they found that I had traces of insecticide in my blood. If you eat at this restaurant you take a chance on getting sick. read more
