We recently had some serious snow, freezing rain and bitter cold temps here in Emerald Isle. A…read morefriend of mine, Kristen, called my wife and I for a "low water pressure" issue. Turns out the RPZ valve had burst and water was running everywhere for a day or so. Kristen called several plumbers and due to weather conditions couldn't commit to getting out today, January 4th. I had shut off the above ground valves to the RPZ and water was still shooting out. Seth, Owner, at Pipeline Plumbing was working feverishly and had Eric respond to Kristen's home. Eric was quick to assess the problem and resolved it in short order. He was as professional, knowledgeable and efficient a representative of his company as a boss could want. As an aside, one of the "other " plumbers who didn't know when he might get out told Kristen she needed to make up her mind on which plumber she wanted. In fact and I quote, he said, "one way to piss off a plumber is to start calling other plumbers. " Really? In an emergency you want the most dependable and reliable. Thankfully, the other guy didn't get the business and the better company did. I'm a big fan thanks to Seth and Eric and will be calling them when needed and recommending them to my friends. Not the best first impression: I knew I had a broken or disconnected pipe in my outside shower as…read moreit's been an issue for a few years now with our brutal winters. All the pipes are inside a wall and insulated. That said, James and Michael responded within 24 hours which is a rarity in this area and I really appreciated the promptness. The remedy was a surprise at $600 and the service charge of $96 was even more of a surprise. In short, I wanted to give it some thought. I'm also a strong believer in a second opinion although it's hard to compare "apples to apples." Although a good friend recommended Boot's I had not used them before and perhaps the trust issue was a factor although I had no reason to not trust their opinion of the remedy. Quite coincidentally, a plumber I've known for 25 years was in the neighborhood and stopped by that same day. He fixed the issue, albeit temporary in all likelihood and had the shower running in minutes by simply placing the pipe back in position. Used the shower that evening without incident. In closing, I can't say anything negative nor would I, because they really didn't do anything. I guess my biggest beef is the service charge and uncertainty of what spending $600 would do to eliminate or dramatically reduce the issue. Danny Shell Emerald Isle, NC 28594
