Hate that everything they tell you is just a lie. Just something to get you off the phone or chat. Terrible accents for a southern boy to understand. When I tried calling the local office, someone with an accent started screaming at me. I asked to speak to someone in the local office, and he started yelling asking if I thought Windstream started in Dalton Ga. He just kept screaming that I needed to call customer service and hung up on me. I called same number back and he went straight to yelling and screaming telling me not to ever call that number again, and then hung up. I didnt get to say anything. A couple of c/s ppl have helped, but when you have talked with 20 of them and only 2 tried. Thats bad. read more

The customer service is awful. They make it very difficult to speak to a person. They are rude, not friendly, and the English is poor. they charge $6.95 to run your card, and if it doesn't go through they will continue to run it, while charging $6.95 each time. Asking a person to reverse these charges is near impossible.. also my service would lag a lot, and randomly go out, taking up to 10 minutes each time to reconnect. The charge of $128 a month is ridiculous. I wouldn't use them if you have another choice. read more

The bill kept going up and up until I was paying $82 for just me, one old man. But the nightmare was when I tried to cancel. They would ask why I was cancelling and no matter what I said they had a response and when I finally talked her into canceling she said she had to transfer me to another person and I had to go through the whole thing again and then they wanted to transfer me for a third time! I said, No, you cancel me! Line disconnects. Next day I call to cancel and this time I told them I wouldn't be needing internet service for a while, I thought that might do it. But she said, Why won't you be needing service for a while? And then it hit me. I blurted out, "I'm going to prison for a while if you must know!!" There was no more transferring me. She got right on it and disconnected me without delay. read more

Horrible company! No customer service and no one cares that your internet and phone line hasn't worked for 12 days. I live in a rural area and there is no other option. I've put up with this company for 17 years and every year it gets worse. BUYER BEWARE! This company don't care! read more

I've been without internet for 3+ weeks. Service is horrendous. They keep blowing smoke about being shorthanded or some bogus storm in the area. What blows my mind is they have the gaul to send out a customer service survey after each visit. They have me by the preverbals since I have no other options. I am so displeased with this service. I have been a customer for a year and every month there has been an issue. I called sometime in the last 2 weeks to have my internet connection fixed as it was connecting and disconnecting in about 30 minute interval. Several days later after that call, I finally got ahold of someone to check the system and she immediately flagged an issue with the modem. She "over nighted" a modem to me (it didn't come until Tuesday ), so at this point I have been without internet for just about 2 weeks. I get the modem plugged in and call to have it unlocked. I spent 40 minutes on the call while she tried to get it unlocked. It wouldn't, so now I get to wait until Friday for someone to come out and fix it. Nothing I love more than paying for a whole months worth of internet and only receiving a week or so of connection. Not to mention all the streaming services I pay for and can't use at the moment unless I sit here and run the bill up on my phone. I am a teacher and at long last on spring break, sure would have be nice to get ahead on some school work and get caught up on some of my missed shows. Lucky me, about the only thing getting caught up on or ahead of now is house work! The only kind thing I have to say about this company is that at least everyone I've spoken to in the last year has been very polite and seemed to be trying to help resolve my MANY issues. I'm seriously wondering about other means to connect to the internet that would be significantly cheaper and way more reliable. read more

Been a customer for well over 10 years and every time you turn around there is issue after issue. I was told about 5 years ago the in down the road is total junk and they just keep putting a bandaid on it and refuse to actually fix the problem. zero out of 5 stars!!! worst customer service experience if my life !!! do not use kinetic / windstream !! internet install ok, add phone? sure, but they at same time cut the internet. reconnect internet? sure, then they cut the phone service. call for help and they say i have a disconnect order in. wrong. then out of blue internet is cut. worst system in the world - people either lying or totally incompetent or not given tools to fix customer problems. save yourself months of aggravation and call spectrum - do not try to get service w windstream / kinetic - literally most fully zero result getting bunch of people in world read more
