I was hoping for a more personalized experience and maybe some guidance from a knowledgeable staff member on choosing a good bottle. I came in during the middle of a workday and was the only customer in the store, yet the man behind the counter didn't speak to me or offer any assistance the entire time I was there. I was also disappointed to later discover that the bottle I purchased was very heavily marked up. The same wine was available at H-E-B for significantly less. I understand that a specialty wine shop may charge a premium, and I'm happy to pay a little more when that comes with knowledgeable recommendations and personalized service. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here, so I won't be returning.

We enjoyed a glass or two of wine, tossed some darts, and soaked in the relaxed, unpretentious vibe. It is casual in the right way. Easy to talk, easy to stay, and not trying too hard to be anything other than a solid local bar. The real highlight, though, is Posty the bar cat. An adorable black and white cat who clearly runs the place. Getting to know Posty outside was an unexpected and genuinely charming moment that made the stop memorable. If you are a cat person, this alone will win you over. Even if you are not, it is hard not to smile. Great drinks, darts, friendly energy, and a bar cat that steals the show. Post Beer & Wine is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when hopping around Houston, and absolutely worth a stop even if you are not on a crawl.

Well, I have a little story I'd like to share. One day, I was searching for liquor stores downtown…read moreother than Specs, looking for a specific brand of liquor. Since I work downtown, several upscale liquor stores appeared on my Apple Maps. I called to inquire. The person who answered was patient and provided excellent customer service. Over the phone, he put me on hold, then came back and said, "Yes, ma'am, we do have it, but only one left. Don't worry, we close at nine. I'll hold it for you," and I appreciated his kindness. I told him I was on my way. When I arrived, he had the bottle ready for me, and I thanked him. I also asked how long the store had been there; he mentioned about five years. I realized I had driven past that place countless times without noticing it--it's kind of tucked away on the corner. We started chatting, and I was delighted to find out he was the owner. That moment meant a lot to me--not just because the store is close to my job, but because it's a Black-owned business, which truly touched my heart. I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear when he shared that. I vowed that from then on, this would be my go-to liquor store. There are three employees there, and they are the most welcoming, pleasant people I've ever met. Over the past few months, they've gotten to know me, and every visit is always a warm experience. Yesterday, I went in to get my usual, and I was greeted with friendly smiles and genuine warmth--"Hey, how's it going? How are things? Just getting off work? Good to see you." I had requested a bottle of Chardonnay, but one of the staff members accidentally ordered Moscato instead. It was no big deal, and he apologized, saying he'd get the correct one for me. Then, unexpectedly, he said, "Do me a favor--take this bottle of Chardonnay and try it. Tell me what you think." He didn't have to do that; I truly believe he did it because that's just who he is, not just because I'm a regular customer. I was about to decline, but he insisted, so I accepted. Just then, a woman from the back, smiling warmly, introduced herself as one of the owners. I'd never seen her before, but she explained she was listening and wanted to come say hello, expressing her appreciation for my support. It warmed my heart in a way words can't fully express. Moments like that remind me that showing kindness and respect doesn't cost anything. It's just about being human and compassionate. As long as Price Liquors is open, they will always have my support. Thank you, Posh.

So, I made the mistake of trying to get a CO2 refill from these guys. They can only provide refill…read morecapacity based on how much is in their CO2 tank, in the back room. If their tank is nearly empty, you won't be able to get a reasonable CO2 refill. They say "only refill by pressure", not by the weight of CO2 going into your tank. I have a 5lb tank and wanted a 5lb refill. They could only provide a 1lb refill (equalizing the pressure between their nearly empty tank and my tank) which is dishonestly inequitable for the fee. They won't tell you their available capacity up front, even though I specifically asked for 5lbs. I had to came back with a scale to show them they only provided one lb. Initially they offered a 50% refund. I told them, I only received one lb. which isn't even half. So, they purged the tank (into the air) of the one lb they did provide and refunded the entire amount to me, returning my tank empty. The moral to the story is don't get a refill from these guys. Go to a supplier that will pump the CO2 into your tank - not through recharging by pressure equalization.

How have I never reviewed Saint Arnold Brewing Company?!…read more It's the longest running craft brewery in Texas, having won countless national awards. Though I don't drink beer anymore, I love that they do have a line of ciders and sparkling water at the brewery; and they have a few wine options. Most recently, I had their pizza margherita (made with cauliflower pizza crust, per my request). It was surprisingly very good! I wasn't expecting much, but it was crispy and had zesty pesto sauce that made it even better. If you don't want to order from their kitchen, they do have food trucks and other artisan vendors, entertainment. Do a tour if you can. It's kid and dog-friendly. I guess I should have read the fine print which didn't mention lettuce but how can you call something a salad that doesn't have any kind of green leaves? The space itself is very nice inside, the kind of brewery my girlfriend would like. It's bright, large windows, clean and lots of plants. They don't do flights on game days even if no one is in line and there are like 10 people in the brewery. The 1st time I came, this rule made sense but the second time they had damn near as many workers as customers. So, I have only tried 3 beers. A stout that I didn't care for and 2 IPA's that were pretty good. There is no food onsite and the 2 times that I was there, I didn't see a food truck either. Of course, the suggested replacements were either twice the price or half the quality of what I actually ordered. As a result, I had to frantically cancel the order, and by the time I did, it was too late to place a different order with a different liquor store due to the time liquor stores are required to close in my state. Thanks for nothing other than a headache and a blood pressure spike! I can understand running out of an item now and then, but falsely representing your inventory to this extent is just plain false advertising. Thanks for making me waste my time frantically canceling the order through Uber Apps support. I definitely won't try placing an order from here again, and I strongly advise everyone to be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS of the "suggested replacement" items if you place an order and, after accepting the order, you get a notification they're out of everything or almost everything you ordered. If this happens to you, go straight to Uber Eats help and tell them to cancel the order because the merchant is out of all or most of your items. They will cancel it for you. Dear Store Management,…read more I am writing to formally report a concerning interaction with a female employee at your store. This is now the second time I have experienced behavior from this employee that I felt was disrespectful, hostile, and inappropriate toward me while I was completing an Uber Eats/DoorDash delivery by bicycle. I am a delivery driver who uses a bicycle to work. I should not be treated differently, judged, or made to feel unwelcome simply because I arrive by bicycle rather than by car. During these interactions, her behavior made me feel as though I was being treated like I was homeless or did not belong at the store. I find this extremely disrespectful and humiliating. This is not an isolated misunderstanding anymore, because it has happened twice. I am asking management to please take this complaint seriously, speak with the employee involved, and ensure that delivery drivers are treated with the same basic professionalism and respect regardless of whether they arrive by bicycle, motorcycle, or car. I actually want to continue supporting your business and accepting Uber Eats and DoorDash orders from your store. I simply expect to be treated respectfully while doing my job. I hope management can address this situation appropriately so that future interactions are professional and there are no further incidents. Thank you for taking my complaint seriously. I would appreciate confirmation that this concern has been reviewed.
