    Stain on carpet

Personally, I totally regret staying at this hotel and paying this amount for a hotel that did not give me"class" or "luxury"'experience. I was highly disappointed. This was my first time in Charlotte and I expected more. The photos and images really is not what you see. Once I arrived, I was not impressed. The hallways did not smell the best. In addition, there were two stains on the floor one by the chair and one by the bed. I am like how is this even possible. In addition, it is loud as well especially during the nighttime.

Here for a wedding reception. Beautiful hotel and the location is in the hub of all the attractions. As we waited for the wedding party, I observed the artwork of various artist in the area. The staff working the reception were professional and nice. The hors d'oeuvres - deviled eggs, steamed shrimp, steak kobobs were delicious. The main course - grilled chicken breast, steak, salmon, mashed and sweet potatoes were delicious. Seasoned to perfection. Nice hotel for receptions, meetings, showers, etc.

I have stayed at the Kimpton twice now and always enjoyed my stay. It's in close proximity to bars and restaurants not to mention Merchant and Trade rooftop is in the hotel. You also have the restaurant Angeline's near the lobby. If you order room service the food will come from there. Overall this is one of my favorite hotels to stay as a staycation in Charlotte! Had a wonderful weekend at this hotel! Was treated like royalty, and everyone was helpful and very friendly! A special shout out to Otis, the restaurant manager, and all of the men and women at the front desk, including DeMarco and Kim! Overall, drinks and food were wonderful, and the rooftop bar had amazing views! I especially appreciate your accommodation of a microwave when requested for the room. Will definitely return and hope to see all of you again soon!!

Stayed at the Kimpton Tryon for one night in Charlotte with my mom and sister. While our stay was short, we left more than satisfied with our experience! To start, the hotel is beautiful and captures the essence of Charlotte. We appreciated the decor, as well as the flora throughout the lobby. It is very clean and the hotel itself is run very smoothly. The location is also noteworthy, as it is located across from a lovely park and is within walking distance of many uptown attractions and eateries. The valet, check in, and check out was efficient and effortless. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, and accommodating. They offered us complementary waters and we truly felt that they wanted to do what they could to help us! The lobby staff also held our bags and car while we ate brunch after we checked out. We were able to return to the hotel after brunch and grab our belongings. They offer a happy hour with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. This was very nice, as the hors d'oeuvres included brick oven pizzas from their restaurant Angeline's. We really enjoyed the happy hour and socializing with some of the staff about local recommendations for food and shopping. The hotel gym, located on the 4th floor, was also nice. It had everything you needed to get a good workout in! My mom visited the rooftop bar (21+) and thought it was cool, with a nice view of the city. Our room was a double queen park view. We were on the sixth floor and had a perfect view of the baseball stadium nearby! My mother is a platinum member, and they left a note in our room along with complimentary kettle corn for her loyalty. The room itself was roomy, with a chic flair to it. The attention to details is what really makes Kimpton's stand out. The beds were comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. The bathroom was really nice, with a super hot shower. Overall the room was more than satisfactory! All in all, I would recommend staying at the Kimpton Tryon in Charlotte! Everything about our stay was more than adequate. The service is very kind and we felt that the staff truly wanted to make us comfortable. The hotel is kept clean and we appreciated the various complimentary things they offered. This is a very nice hotel, and once again, we left very pleased with our stay at a Kimpton!

Beautiful hotel - great city views, excellent staff! Safe area. Restaurant was okay - would go offsite to eat next time.

Amazing location, spectacular view from the top, beautifully decorated, and friendly staff! Negatives- an expensive hotel with very little amenities. Confusing and frustrating tv options with poor internet, you have to download a bunch of apps to your phone, there's no cable or direct tv. The linens are cheap, there's no mini bar, no pool or hot tub or gym! There isn't even a coffee maker nor hot water in the room or the lobby, so making tea at night is impossible, you have to get room service or ask the restaurant for hot water. For the price point I feel there should be more amenities

Nice hotel in convenient Uptown Charlotte. Close to restaurants, Bank of America Stadium. Centrally located walking distance in the middle of everything Uptown. Clean room. A few more accessible power outlets would be nice. Beautiful, popular and crowded Rooftop Bar that opens at 5PM. Call and reserve table or lounge area or you will be standing. We waited 2 hours for a table for 4. They were allowing a 2 hour maximum time per table use on Saturday night. Also, a line quickly forms for the elevator to the rooftop. (Have your ID with you to show the security guy at the lobby elevator to the roof.) My complaint is the noise. Inside and outside still going at 3:30AM. Outside are cars racing, loud engines reviving up, and a lot of people until early morning hours. Crazy Loud! I realize it's in the heart of the city but WOW be prepared to not sleep. The bed was cozy. Requested foam pillows but Down Feathers were in the room. Valet Parking and friendly, helpful check in. I know it's not the hotels fault for the outside noise and this was a Saturday Night, but just be aware. It's like being at a NASCAR race as far as noise.

My wife and I ended up here unexpectedly after our flight was canceled due to an incoming snowstorm. Since the JW Marriott wasn't open during my last visit to Charlotte, I made a point to stay here during this short, unplanned stop. We arrived late on a Friday night, which didn't leave much time to explore the hotel's amenities, but the stay still left a strong impression--both good and not-so-good. The guest rooms are sleek, modern, and undeniably luxurious, with a sophisticated design that feels appropriate for a newer urban JW property. The glass shower was spacious and attractive, though oddly there was no body wash provided, and the drain was clogged--small details, but noticeable at this level. The mattress, unfortunately, was extremely firm--uncomfortably so for me--and made for a restless night. Because our luggage was still stuck at the airport, we requested several basic toiletries. Despite assurances, they never arrived. On the positive side, room service is available 24 hours, and the food was excellent--fresh, well-prepared, and delivered promptly. The Executive Lounge is also a standout: beautifully designed and offering a strong breakfast spread that made the morning far more enjoyable. Ben at the front desk the next morning deserves special mention. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely responsive in addressing the issues we experienced the night before, which helped restore some confidence in the stay. One lingering question: I don't quite understand why an urban hotel charges a Daily Destination Fee. While the fee can be offset with credits toward room service or dining, it still felt out of place for a downtown business-oriented property. I've stayed at JW Marriotts in several other cities and have consistently found their service to be a strength. That's why I was surprised that service here didn't quite meet those expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-located, but smoother execution and attention to detail would bring the experience in line with the JW standard.

I was asked by Elon Law to teach a night class in Charlotte and they graciously got me a hotel at the Hilton in downtown Charlotte. Sounded great and I was excited... And then I arrived. Let's see.... There was a long line at the reception and it took quite a while till I got to the front of line to be helped. Then I was told that the rooms would not be available for 2 hours even though it was already 2 hours beyond the check-in time. No accommodation for that mishap other than the offer to leave my bags and wander around. This was awful because I had to teach in an hour! Thank God they did find a room that was ready and so I asked where I could park the car and I almost had a heart attack when she told me it was $35 to park my car. Are you freaking kidding me? The room itself was close to $200. Seriously? I don't know why I asked the next question, although I knew what the answer would be as I timidly asked, "Does this include breakfast?" Of course it doesn't. And if you want a piece of toast and a cup of coffee, that's going to cost you close to $20. This place is a freaking rip-off! I greed to pay the damn $35 and was told that if I park on the fourth floor there is a walkway right into the hotel with my room key. So I parked the car where she said and went to the door and kept swiping and swiping and swiping and could not get in. Finally, I called downstairs and they sent somebody up to let me in to only discover that they share the parking lot and access with the Hampton inn. Incredibly confusing. That's why my key did not work. So I had to take all of my stuff back down to the lobby again and find my way to the Hilton elevator. By the time that nightmare was solved, that was the end of my shower and resting and it was time to leave for teaching I came back after teaching quite hungry but I was not about to spend $150 for an M&M peanut that was for sale in the lobby. I went back to my room, had a bottle of water to only discover that they want $2. Do me a favor Hilton inn. Next time just charge us $1,000 for the night and let it include breakfast and parking. Again, I am very appreciative of Elon University putting me up for the night but next time I'm going to see if they can put me in another place. Maybe a place that charges a normal price, is not terribly confusing and actually includes breakfast and parking for the exorbitant fee. There's a second chapter to this review. and It truly proves that good customer service can mean everything! So as I was checking out the following morning, the woman at the registration named Ebony asked me the infamous, "How was your stay?" And my reply was, "Do you want the polite response or the real response?" with which she replied, "The real response, absolutely!" So I began to tell her how my room wasn't ready and I was going to have to wait 2 hours. I told her how the woman at the registration desk did not offer me anything for that delay other than I could leave my bags behind the counter. I told her how they finally found me a room but told me nothing about the Hilton gold honors I was entitled to. I told her how confusing it was in the garage to find the right way to the hotel. I told her how horrified I was about the $35 parking fee. Ebony was so sympathetic to my frustration and determined to give me top customer service, that she did not charge me for the parking and gave me a Hilton Gold perk I was entitled to and got a beautiful breakfast to go. Ebony turned everything around for me. I got a delicious omelet with wheat toast, made a hot cup of coffee, got into my car with a new attitude and traveled back to Greensboro. I still think the hotel charges too much, should not be charging for parking, should be offering a breakfast for that price and should explain how to navigate the parking lot since the dual hotels sharing the same garage. But, they also have Ebony who knows how to treat a customer! Thank you Ebony! And Hilton... Get your act together!!!

Staff is a 12 out of 10. Valet super nice and helpful, check in and front desk staff always efficient and a delight to deal with same for housekeepers or any other staff we met along the way. This is the only hotel I have stayed at in the States that I think their bathroom is about comparable to ours at home. There is a separate space for the commode which offers some nice privacy if 2 are sharing the room. Housekeepers were adorable they placed out toiletries on emerald green cloths on the counter I truly believe the prettiest place in Charlotte to see the sun rise is at the indoor pool and spa area. It is gorgeous. Love that the pool area is more spa pool vibes with spa music. Hot tub is turned on by a button panel on the wall. Inside the hot tub there is a place to turn up or down the intensity of the jets. The hot tub has pretty colors in it from the underwater lighting. There is a great array of seating without feeling crowded. Meticulously cleaned. Like any time of day the indoor pool space was clean. I do like what they use instead of chlorine it was more gentle on my hair and skin. TV is a bit below average. Streaming speed is pretty slow. Limited on which streaming services that can be accessed. Additionally, the volume jumps a lot like the tv can be unable to be heard you turn the volume up and it is good. Then a second later it is super loud. Spouse said most modern tvs have an auto feature that manages this. But this is on Marriott and not the hotel as with some research it showed this is a pretty common issue most folks have about the tvs. We are buying a Roku stick to try and use in the future to access other streaming services we pay for at home. The beds are better than other hotels in the Marriott family but spouse and I still find them a bit uncomfortable. I would like to have them a more memory foam material than the spring with pillow top. Wardrobe was awesome it is a nice size. Lights up when the doors are opened and has a pretty floral scape along the back of it. I was able to keep my carry on sized suitcase in there. Spouse was able to hand my dress and his sports coat and pants for event we were going to. Room had plenty of counter space in the room and bathroom. This was great. Oddly there seemed to be drums that started playing outside at like 9am on Saturday that woke us both up. There was a wedding going on that weekend and I know they had some breakfasts not sure if there was maybe a morning ceremony too? Noise didn't last super long but woke us both up. The windows you can hear a fair amount of noise through from the street. Ordered room service I think 3 times. Very excellent experience each and every time. Each item was cooked perfectly and things like grilled chicken breast were still juicy and not overcooked. My K Lounge review will be separate from hotel but same 5/5. We enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, that excitement slowly faded as the day went on. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We waited about 5-10 minutes before anyone checked us in. I mentioned it was our first visit so we opted for a full tour, but the welcome felt rushed and incomplete. We also noticed other guests being offered drinks upon arrival nothing was offered to us. We headed to the Aqua Lounge to relax and decided to order food. There was no staff in sight, so I eventually walked downstairs to place the order myself. The food was underwhelming, and it took 40 minutes for a turkey BLT, no napkins, it was an overall poor experience. We wanted to enjoy the hot tub but the jets were broken. You'd think everything would be fully functional in a hotel/spa of this caliber. I don't mind paying an automatic service charge when service is actually provided, but that wasn't the case here. I find that staff is less likely to care when the gratuity is automatic, which held true at this spa. The spa itself is beautiful, serene, and well designed. Our technicians, Renata and Kieyan, were professional, warm, and truly the highlight of the entire visit. If I were rating solely based on them, it would be a full five stars. If you're only looking for a great massage, I'd recommend this spa. If you're seeking a full luxury spa experience, go elsewhere.

They delivered it, but it was still annoying. I loved the staff at Sophia's. They were so friendly. For sure stop in there for a cocktail. The room was comfortable. I love the funky side tables. We did complain about a certain smoky smell, the issue was addressed immediately. We were promised a credit that never materialized. When we checked out, we were offered bag service again (elevator still down), that also did not come to pass. We figured out that the same guy that was running the valet was also responsible for bag service. Impossible for one person to do both tasks efficiently and concurrently. This was a nice hotel, but definitely not Michelin Key level (we have stayed in many).

The checkin was quick and was allowed to keep the luggages at the front desk lobby as I arrived earlier than the check-in time. The morning free breakfast spread was good and the other amenities like gym and the indoor play area for kids were pretty cool. Couple of things I felt could have been different- - The room with the view and the included kitchen were great, but they didn't clean up the room or make the bed, the following days. - The floor consistently smelled caustic - like leaked chemicals.

Check in was at 4:00 pm which I felt was very late. The front desk said that they would have some rooms available after 1:00 pm, so we went to get a bite to eat. We returned at 2:30 pm and were told that no rooms were available. We had to sit in the lobby for another hour and a half and asked the desk several times to check availability of a clean room for us. Finally after approaching the desk at 4:00 pm our room became available. We got up to the room and opened the door and it had an odd smell to it. We were so exhausted from waiting for almost 4 hours to get our room we decided to proceed. Later we noticed that the AC unit seemed to be leaking and the carpet was wet around it. This is unacceptable. The room should not have been given to us at all. The breakfast was OK. There was no cut up fruit like we had at other Hampton Inns. Just a couple of apples in plastic wrap. The hotel is tired and needs to be updated. You need to do better.

I'm truly conflicted about this review…read more.. I spent the weekend at the Charlotte Courtyard for pleasure, and there are some things they did great, and some things that definitely feel short. On the side of awesomeness: Their location is incredible!!! Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to get a better location in Downtown Charlotte. Situated right in the center of Uptown, they are close to myriad bars and restaurants, nightlife, and activities. Close enough to everything to be walkable, just far enough away to avoid the weekend bar insanity. Also, the staff was incredible!! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs and wants were met. Last thing, the price was great!! Okay, the shortfalls: the rooms! While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

So I decided to give Courtyard a shot and it wasn't the best experience. Bottom line, if you're in…read moreneed of some rest and relaxation, I HIGHLY suggest choose a different hotel. First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck
