Tim did a great job of identifying my problems and worked with me to target therapy. I would definitely return to Wil-power when I return to Albany.

I'd love to…read moregive this center a higher rating but can't due a situation that left my husband feeling uncomfortable after we discussed and compared our services upon leaving the facility. To be as fair as possible I am listing both pros and cons based on both of our experiences: Pros: Very clean and serene facility Friendly receptionist Prices reasonable My massage provided great service tending to my areas which were causing me pain and he was very personable (male therapist) Cons My husband received a 90 minute massage with latex gloves from his massage therapist (female therapist). Having had several massages over the last decade, never have either one of us received a massage using latex gloves. When my husband found out that my massage therapist did not use gloves, it left him with an uneasy feeling. My husband noted that his therapist did not apply firm pressure even after being asked to do so several times. Perhaps she applied what she was capable of physically, but it was less pressure than he is used to and preferred. That coupled with the gloves incident made him feel as an African- American male that the massage therapist did not necessarily want to touch him nor have contact with him. Perhaps this was not intended. I did call upon leaving once we discussed this in the car to ask if it was customary that gloves are used during massages there as my therapist did not use them. I was told that it is up to the therapist due to possible conditions that the therapist or the client may have such as eczema, or possible open wounds, etc., none of which my husband has/had. Neither of us have any type of skin conditions. My advice to simplify misunderstandings and to avoid customers from feeling as though therapists don't feel comfortable serving certain customers would simply be to ask clients prior to making appointments if they would oppose their therapist using gloves. In this case, we would have declined this therapist and chosen another. My husband would not have booked an appointment for 90 minutes and paid ($90 + tip) to be massaged in latex gloves. Unfortunately, it was not the relaxing or comfortable experience that one would seek in a massage. Hoping that changes can be made to avoid similar situations for others.
