However, after months of appointments where she ran grossly behind schedule (as in over an hour... every time... after I left work + drove 45 miles and was still on time) -- which on more than one occasion caused me to miss the window for radiation tests that I needed urgently -- I had to start seeing doctors closer to home. She's just too busy and always overbooked. That might work ok if you only need to see her a couple times a year, but for people with ongoing medical issues this can be a real problem.. On top of that, the real dealbreaker was when I started having some complicated symptoms a few months back. I communicated with her about it over e-mail, worried about whether I needed to be seen. I'm not sure if it's just because she was super busy or because it wasn't back-related problems, but I felt like her responses were dismissive and a bit random in her guesses as to what was going on. I needed an appointment but I felt like she was encouraging me to ignore serious symptoms. I ended up having to see someone else to get a real diagnosis. All of that aside, she IS awesome and very knowledgeable for back-related and pain management issues, so I still recommend her for people with that need. I just wish she was on time more often and better-versed in other medical problems.

Because of her excellent care, I followed her from private practice to PAMF in Dublin. I feel very lucky to have her as my physician! Since I am a long-time patient of hers, I would like to address the other Yelp reviews that weren't as stellar. Dr. Thompson treats you as a person and takes her time to listen to one's complaints before addressing them. She has never seemed rushed during my appointments. There are times she is running late, but I know that is because she takes her time with her patients and I know that if I need some extra time, she would never hesitate to give it to me. Because she is so good, I believe she is well worth the wait! The other Yelper addressed that Dr. Thompson rushed her through her exam and only gave her orders for lab tests w/o giving her a diagnosis for her health complaints. Without lab results, it would be difficult for any physician to give an accurate diagnosis to any patient, especially a new one. Lab tests, especially comprehensive blood work is very expensive and should not be held against the doctor who orders them. If the patient had gone back to get her results from Dr. Thompson, I am sure she would have been happy with the time Dr. T would have spent with her explaining her results and plans for her future health care. Too many of us want instant results these days. Healthcare doesn't give instant results. I am very appreciative to Dr. Thompson and to all the doctors and staff at PAMF who have helped me stay as healthy as possible. Five stars isn't enough for the excellent care Dr. Thompson and PAMF has given to me!

I could not say that about every doctor I worked with. The thing I appreciated most was that he returned calls promptly resulting in his patient's not having to wait for pain relief etc. He was also respectful of the nursing staff and welcomed suggestions from those of us who had "been around" and "seen a lot" over many years. At the time Knew him, he was a very "proud Papa" of a sweet little boy. His chest expanded a couple of extra inches when he showed us pictures at the nursing station. I would trust my life or the lives of my family to this wonderful man !!
