She is kind and empathetic but also keeps me accountable for doing the work to improve myself and my situation. I will also say I have yet to have a billing problem which seems so rare these days. If you are struggling with something and need help growing and getting through it, Katie Wilson is great.

Katie believes that assisting clients manage their mental health is only part of the treatment process. She believes in helping her clients reach their full potential. Katie is completing a PhD in adult education and with a research emphasis on attachment and posttraumatic growth. Katie specializes in trauma, and largely utilizes EMDR in conjunction with attachment theory/therapy. She has done extensive research on attachment theory, posttraumatic growth and human flourishing and has published several journal articles in this area. I am strength-based in my practice and place emphasis on posttraumatic growth and human flourishing. My approach is supportive in nature, and I believe that education is an important part of therapy. I practice mutual collaboration in setting and reaching goals as I believe that client and clinician work as a team for the best outcomes.

In her role as a licensed mental health counselor, I personally believe it is a terrible abuse of the system, of trust, and her Washington State License. From experience, coming and going, and making appointments, Ms. Campbell appears to prefer persons seeking to book psychic readings sessions as I personally know some of her other clients and have verified with them privately why they see her, while those in need the specialized process of EMDR and real counseling, have less availability. She will spend much of your paid session "while on the clock" talking about her achievements, accolades, book, and other services... Leaving you less time to work on your stuff. Its dishonest, and after this review you still choose to see her, don't let her talk about herself. Explain to her, you are there to work on you. However, I can't recommend her. There are other quality professionals available.

Michael's approach to counseling is punitive and with the glass half empty view. He uses ridicule…read moreto motivate and disparages the client's past and character. He is like the cynical cop and looks at the world through a negative lens, the opposite of a positive approach. His clients are the nail and he is the hammer. One size fits all. Michael is not Christ like, Jesus never stooped to shaming or demeaning, he built people up to where he wanted them to grow. His clients are emotional punching bags. Michael is a putative bully and uses his counseling platform to berate his clients, an ego boost perhaps or a controlling fetish? He confuses his role, acting like a prosecutor rather than a therapist. Michael does not have a dialogue with his clients, he has a punitive condescending lecture. He is a poor listener and has control issues, he needs covert anger management counseling. If you were beaten half to death by your parents, he states "You are responsible!" What if you were sexually abused, are you responsible? This is Michael's view point. Clients are responsible for seeking help but they did nothing to deserve physical abuse or sexual abuse, period. They need an empathetic counselor that allows the patient to grieve and move on. This statement that "You are responsible" is a cop out for a therapist. He doesn't have to take any responsibility with this statement. Michael is lopsided in his marriage counseling approach, favoring one spouse over the other, emotionally dog-piling on one and not confronting the other, no sense of balance and fairness. He falls into the trap of "Contempt prior to Investigation." Tony Robbins cured a man in 15 minutes who stuttered for his whole life. Look it up, it is on Youtube. It would take years for Michael to cure this person, if even possible. When mentioning Tony Robbins NLP techniques Michael dismissed this state of the art counseling method, unwilling to learn anything new or acknowledge NLP merits. His eyes glazed over and he became defensive and agitated. New technology has passed him by, he would rather spend years collecting fees than use a proven faster form of therapy. We don't work on carburetor's anymore. Why make client counseling a meal ticket for 5 years? This is self serving and it doesn't have to be this way. I had a previous counselor pre-covid for 6 months and not once did they engage Michael's negative shaming adversarial approach or conduct in therapy. In the end, Michael is a mediocre therapist at best and a at worst a disgrace to his profession. Michael, "You are responsible" to be a loving, caring therapist willing to embrace new techniques, void of shaming and having contempt for his clients.
