I stayed in the car, dialed the number, made some confirmations, and waited for the staff to bring it out. I waited about 10 minutes. The employee who helped me load the trunk was friendly and helpful. Our car was PACKED as we were traveling to a cottage with all of our stuff for 5 days. He was nice enough to tie the bags for me so the items didn't go everywhere. We went back to the bakery to pick up a cake for our friends birthday. There was no one at the counter until an employee came out of the freezer. We asked him to write 'happy birthday Allie' on a cake we chose and he said 'I'll try'. Which should have been a red flag right off the bat. The photo attached to this review will speak for itself with how this went..... With wanting to just get out of the store and not make a big deal, we packed up the cake and took it home. It's a hilarious photo and I laugh every time I look at it LOL. It makes for a great story but I feel other people may have been very upset if they took this home for someones birthday.

Rotten meat and utterly shockingly bad customer service…read more On Sunday the 28th I purchased a shoulder of NZ lamb at the Independent Grocer Meaford store for $28.80 (-30% discount) When I got home I discovered that it was rotting and smelled simply disgusting. It was actually blue in some spots. As we had guests staying with us, I could not return it until two days later and was told by staff (including the manager) that as it had been priced at 30% off I was not entitled to a refund. Even although it was reduced, I do not expect to pay for spoiled meat at Independent. After sending an email to the owner that day, a certain Pina Godard, I have not heard back after almost a week. And I did follow up. I shall be boycotting this store from now on and posting my bad review everywhere I can. Do not give this store your heard-earned money; they don't deserve it.

That the prices have sky rocket to take advantage of people through terrible times like this. Everything has at least double or tripled in price if not more. This is not the Bills I knew growing up. My grandma use to know Bill and family way back.she would roll over in her grave if she seen this greed side especially in desperate times the World is going through now to treat the way you treat them today in a crisis. Maybe it is time to retire and sell the business as said. It sure isn't like the ole old store I use to know growing up? really sad. If I could give you a minus star I would. Here is a definition of price gouging. This shoe fits Value-Mart..... Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent. Really sad I won't shop here no more. Rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Not to mention your staff is incredibly rude, when you ask your staff something for help. They walk away.
